For those with GSXR USD front ends
Hey I have my GS700 with a 96 GSXR750 front end and recently, my clutch cable partly ripped at the lever. What are you guys using for the clutch cable? I bought a new cable for my year GS700 when I did the conversion and it always seemed too stiff to pull in the clutch. It also made a nice squeaking sound when I pull it. I was wondering if a "correct" one will be any softer for my weak fingers.

Why would a clutch cable care what forks are on the bike?
Sorry, but I just don't see the connection, but I have never done one of those conversions.
I would imagine that a stock cable with a propeprly-lubicated handle would do wonders.
None of my bikes has a clutch that is hard to pull.

What happens is that the cable termination at the handlebar end has a larger diameter than on our old GS's.
When you use an "old" cable it will not fit correctly in the "new" clutch lever

but if he is using the GS700 lever and perch then it should still be the same cable.....unless he is using a different lever and perch, (which he did not state)

Sorry for the missing info. I had a motion pro clutch cable for a GS on the Gsxr lever and perch. I always had it lubed properly because I thought it would help soften the pulls. I ask because I wonder about the length and cable end designComment

Is the plug on the end of the GS cable an exact fit into the GSXR lever, and is the angle of the pull the same as stock?Comment
