New Progressives are on :)
We installed the new progressive shocks today. Installation went pretty smooth, my only gripe is the bike is a smidge too tall for my short legs. I'm going to have to get boots with a bit of a heel to compensate for the added height.Tags: None -
Nice job. How was compressing / installing the springs ?82 1100 EZ (red)

Entertaining to say the least
. We went with the garrote method and it worked great to install the springs on the shocks.
We had to take both shocks off to do the installation rather than one at a time but they look great
. The ride is also much nicer.

Great News!
That's awesome...that the job went well. As for the added height...you gotta submit a picture of that...
Just kidding, you don't have to. Any pics of newly installed shocks?

^^Alright, cool! Looking forward to pic(s).
I've just about got all the parts I need to start the valve adjustment on my bike. I also have my new brake pads/shoes and also spark plugs--I'm getting excited!
You must really have a short inseam...I'm only 5'7" and can put both feet on the ground; with boots on of course!

Sounds like you're going to have a busy weekend installing all your new goodies. We also start pulling the engine from my friend's 1100 yesterday (red/black bike behind mine in the pic). Some seals have gone and engine oil is mixing with the hypoid oil. All that's left is to get the engine mount bolts loosened and we can slide the engine out and crack the case.Comment

Dynamite comes in small packages .
What breed of shocks did you get ? Springs for the front end as well ?

[QUOTE=simon kuether;1909017]No springs up front. I redid the forks about 3 years ago and they've been great. The rear are progressive series 12 shocks and springs.Comment

Happy Rider
Yeah...the boots with a little extra heel will help.
Not all the parts have arrived...it will probably be next weekend. Maybe I'll clean up the garage this weekend.Sounds like you're going to have a busy weekend installing all your new goodies. We have everything disconnected and just need to remove the engine mount bolts to get it out. That's tomorrow's project.Comment

Glad to hear you got them on! I dare say your originals were dead and saggy... so you probably just have the correct ride height now
Looking forward to pic's of course!Comment
