YSS E-Series (Eco Line) Rear Shocks

I just got these cool rear shocks for my 83 GS1100EZ from YSS recently. I actually found out about YSS through this website but nobody had posted up any pictures of it. So, I just wanted to post up some pictures and information for other people in case they were in the process of picking some new shocks for themselves.

    Some info:
YSS E-Series (Eco Line) RE302-335T-01 model. It is a Self Adjusting Gas Emulsion Shock with Pre-Load Adjustment. From what I can tell, the E-Series is their second level of shocks available. Their entry level shocks being the Bravo Series (Hydraulic Type). They have other models available for our bikes. You can find out more about them if you visit their website.

    Opinion:
The quality of the shocks is very high. It looks very good. I hope it performs as well as it looks. I called the number on their website and spoke to Klaus. He provided excellent service. He asked for my weight to customize the shocks to my body. And since I ordered 2 sets (my brother's bike and mine), Klaus gave me 10% off. Shipping & handling was $35 which I think is fair considering that it was coming from New York and I'm in the Bay Area, CA. The shocks arrived in a week and was well packaged with plenty of popcorn stuffing. The shocks come with the usual warranty papers and user manual. It also comes with a metal bar to adjust the preload and an allen wrench to lock the preload adjuster. I also got a nice keychain.

The only gripe I have is that the eyelet of the shocks that I received didn't have the metal covers that are shown in the demo pictures on their website. I'm going to call Klaus about that.

Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase and highly recommend it. I'll update with more info after I've installed and ridden them.

Nice looking shocks, thanks for the info. What did you pay for them? I'll be curious to see what you think of them on the bike, or if anyone else chimes in about their performance.

I've always been a big fan of the reservoir style of shock.

I was just going to post something about these shocks. I saw them on a few ahrma builds but haven't seen any feed back. I would like a piggyback reservoir shock for my GS1000. It's going to be a street/track or maybe an ahrma bike. I'm not looking to drop ohlin's type money.

A couple years I bought some for my 1000 and I also have the ones that have preload adjustment, not compression dampning. They called and e-mailed to see how I liked them, or if I had any questions. (This was from their company headquarters in the U.S.). They even offered me a great price on shocks for my other bikes, over the phone!!

I'm currently on the market for shocks for my 81' 750e. I would appreciate some input, as to how they are performing for you? Were they customized to your weight, riding style, and bike ? If so, that information would be helpful, along with your sincere opinion of there performance. Thanks, Skyhawk.

I don't think they customize unless you special order. There are various spring's available though if you don't fit into the "normal weight range". I say this because they told me they have shocks for my bike "in stock".
