adjustable brake levers?
has anybody had any luck with fitting an adjustable brake lever on an early 750e? i find the stock lever really difficult to use as it is, (i'm usually only comfortable grasping with two fingers) and its barely doing the job. any thoughts? thanks markTags: None

Those look nice, what make/brand are they (source)? Nice of them to put in the tassle holders at the end of the levers.. the plastic pink ones..
I need to replace both my master brake cylinders on my GS650G.. (the pink tassles fell off)

Don't remember. The owner was a member here, maybe he still is, but I don't remember his screen name. He also posted that bike on chicagolandsportbikes.com, but that site is not working today. I know I asked him about the levers and he did respond, so I may have the info at home. I'll check tonight after work.Originally posted by tkent02 View PostBob, which bike are those from?Bob T. ~~ Play the GSR weekly photo game: Pic of Week Game

Ebay is lousy with them. The clutch is a little more difficult to be sure of but the brake is the standard nissin. I put the stock adjustable one off the Daytona on Carrie's GS500 (which is also the same as the 1150) when I upgraded to the cheapo Red China Pazzo knockoffs.Originally posted by Baatfam View PostDon't remember. how far do i need to reduce it do you reckon? 1/4"? won't the fluid pressure just push it back out? or if not make the brake action a little slack? i'm a bit nervous about trying this.
the nissins look great, but i think they're too wide to fit with my fairing.
one that would fit on the stock perch is really what i want i think.

My KLR has an adjuster in this way as stock (so you don't have to file it). The thing with it is that unlike adjustable levers it doesn't change the "rest" point of the lever only how close to the bar it starts actuating.....Originally posted by gr333nyboy View Posthow far do i need to reduce it do you reckon? 1/4"? won't the fluid pressure just push it back out? or if not make the brake action a little slack? i'm a bit nervous about trying this.

I use a MC from a Kawi ZX6 on mine (has a mirror mount, adjustable lever & is cheap).
On all the stock ones I've had I've just bent the lever a bit to suit my hand... anyone else who rides it has to live with it though. (Not a problem if that's a rare occurence).

thanks salty monk, i will try slightly shortening the nub, but also order the zx6 adjustable lever. it will be nice to be able to stop properly.

actually, its alot better now, i did the old prison bar filing thing and the action is now MUCH better, i can really squeeze it hard enough to stop quickly now (hoping anyway!) ridiculously satisfying to do it myself too. so, thanks for the suggestion.

Just found my old PM from "4Cammer" on the Chicagolandsportbikes.com forum....
I asked him about the levers and master cylinder in the above pics.
"...the master is from a 2006 CBR600RR and the levers are R15&L15 (set is S 006). Work quite well.

Hey! That is my bikeOriginally posted by Baatfam View Post
I have since removed the Honda master cylinder and clutch perch and reinstalled the stock mc, levers and perch. I do like the look much better now, and have rebuilt the mc, single caliper and installed stainless lines. I may still have the Czech levers in the garage and anyone that wants them can have them. They are quite nice Let me know. I have tossed the Honda mc and clutch perch though.
Bob, thanks for the link to that thread.
