    86 gs550 fork cap

    All i wanted to do was repaint my handle bar parts so i un screwed the end cap on the fork tube on one side,bad decision i didn't realizehow much pressure was in the tube, anyway the the cap flew off and now resides somewhere in my garage where i havent a clue .Does anyone know where i can get,buy or trade for another(these are the one with air shocks)or can i use one from another model suzuki? they seem to be discontinued

    try looking a bit harder, it has to be there somewhere. saves the hassle and money to buy another one!

      Similar problem when I was rebuilding my GS450 forks...
      Was assembling them with new progressive springs....damn thing slipped out of place in my shop press (using as a third hand) and cap/clip/spacer went flying in different directions.

      Eventually I found everything....look harder. Found my cap on the highest shelf in my garage.

        Did you look up, like stuck into the ceiling? I haven't taken mine apart yet but can just imagine what THAT's going to be like since the 83 GS650G top of the fork setup is different than most..
