    Rebuilding Marzocchi shocks problem

Hey everyone, I'm rebuilding my Marzocchi Strada's and have hit a problem. The shock body plug, #15, is not wanting to thread out. I've soaked it with my favorite solution with no avail. I'm going to hit it with some heat today but does anyone have any experience taking these apart?

Never taken one apart, but looking at the parts fiche, theres a nut on the end of that threaded shaft, part number 27. I'll bet that must come off before part 15 maybe?

A bit of heat and I also bought the proper 32mm wrench and off they came easily enough Pretty sure that will be the only use of this 32mm wrench but it's always good having the right tools. I'll probably post up a thread of rebuilding them if I get the time. I purchase a shock compressor last week to take these apart, it was so much fun I've take a number of sets apart. I've got to original Koni's apart, some OEM suzuki's and I can finally get those ugly chrome covers off my Progressive 412's.

More problems. The rebound spring, #23, on each shock is broken. I'm hoping I can find a comparable spring from some local suppliers.

Hi, got the same issue with broken rebound springs, did you have any luck sourcing replacements?

              Cheers

I never checked over in Europe too hard but looking thru the internet I've never been able to find a replacement. I made new ones myself but I have no clue on the spring rating other than it 'felt' stiff I figure these springs are so stiff it won't matter...at least that's what I'm hoping. I've yet to put them back together.

I have reached out to a few big firms over here that make / overhaul shocks such as Hagon's and KTECH. Harris performance is close by and they are an Ohlins agent so might pop down there at the weekend and see if they have anything, will let you know how I get on.

Try e-mailing moto@marzocchiusa.com, I know they still stock the seal kit.
