I have Pirelli MT66 tires on my Triumph Speedmaster. They are good tires, but the Shinko's will suit him better. Even if it wears out after 6k miles, that would give him over 5 years of riding with how little he rides. Seems anything more pricey would be a waste of cash. Me, however already burned through a set of ME880 Marathons and am half way through my MT66's in three years.

I'm running the 712's - I like the tread pattern better than the 230's
I got 6500 miles from the rear and the front is still looking ok.
I just replaced the rear with another 712 and I have ZERO complaints with them.Comment
