    Banjo Bolt Pressure Switch

    Front brake switch saga continues.

I lost a screw, bought two more, and now the plastic holder that holds the copper bit has been screwed up when we were bleeding the brake line. I am thinking about getting on of the banjo bolt pressure switches, but am not entire sure on how or where it installs.

I think that it installed through a banjo bolt, due to the placement of the holes, but my dad seems to think something else. Anyone have one and can help?

You install it in place of your banjo bolt. Very good thing to do. May have to play with a bit of wiring but it's easy.

I thought so, thanks. Is the 10mm diameter X 1.0mm pitch the same for all of our cycles?

        I think all Suzukis are 10mm x 1.0.

Do it, you will love it. Getting rid of the external mechanical parts makes it bullet proof. Ray

Yes, it makes it "bullet-proof", but changes a few things, too.

With the banjo bolt switch, it is harder to flick the lever a bit to flash the brake light to warn someone behind you. The light will not come on until there is a bit of pressure in the line, which means that you are actually slowing down by the time the light comes on.

Other than that, yes, it's a good thing.

The stock switch works fine as long as it's clean and properly adjusted. You can get brand new switch kits off ebay for about $10, and no need to break into the hydraulic system.

Even though I have several of the plastic switches for back ups, where does one find this "banjo bolt pressure switch"? And can it be used to eliminate the stock rear brake switch as well?

Okay never mind, went looking and found all kinds of info on it. Thanks Me thinks I just may do this up grade.

Pretty much found what I want for the banjo bolt pressure switch, though it was saying the size is 3/8" - 24 I suspect that converts to a 10mm x 1.0mm?
