Bracing 1150 frames?
Has anyone done so? If so, where?"Thought he, it is a wicked world in all meridians; I'll die a pagan."

the square tube is pretty stiff...
i haven't seen one done but i'm sure there are places that a few feet of tube would help.
under bracing on the swing arm would look cool and reduce flex/twist but most people would say just swap the arm for a later model one.
i have never been up on the interchanges/swaps of later model stuff...more qualified people on here to answer those questions. -
I love the look of braced swingarms. I wonder whether anyone does that work on oem arms any longer?"Thought he, it is a wicked world in all meridians; I'll die a pagan."

There's a local guy who does braced arms for ZRXs. I may swing by his shop to ask if he'd do an old GS arm."Thought he, it is a wicked world in all meridians; I'll die a pagan."

Are you having stability issues under certain riding conditions? If so, have you performed any suspension mods?Ed

I've rebuilt the forks with straight rate 1.1 springs and swapped on an M900 rear shock. Bike still seems to wallow a bit in fast sweepers."Thought he, it is a wicked world in all meridians; I'll die a pagan."

Here's a photo of how Yosh used to brace the swingarms on the 750. The forward end is welded to the bottom shock mounts.

Typical bracing points. The E points are easy and take out of lot of the flex at the swingarm pivot.

I just contacted a shop in Ohio that has done several 1st Gen GSXR swing-arms. If the guy gets back to me, I'll post his info. If he does agree to do one, I'll buy a second swing-arm and have him do it up while I continue to ride on the original."Thought he, it is a wicked world in all meridians; I'll die a pagan."

I doubt the wallowing is due to frame flex unless you are talking about 100+ mph. Getting the damping rates correct is critical, especially in the rear. You might want to experiment with different damping settings and see what happens.Ed

I will continue playing with the rates, Ed. I have a really good suspension guy who raced in the 80's. He's very conversant with these old beasts."Thought he, it is a wicked world in all meridians; I'll die a pagan."
