    1100 steering dampener?

Getting ready to repair Suzi, pondering the ways to spend money. I recall seeing here someone's very nice '81 11e with a steering dampener. Don't recall seeing many on '82 - '83s. Are they just not needed?

Had an eight-position piston on my '73 Z1, turned it all the way up for the highway, all the way off otherwise. Don't know how much it helped, but it couldn't hurt the handling of that bike.
1982 GS1100E V&H "SS" exhaust, APE pods, 1150 oil cooler, 140 speedo, 99.3 rear wheel HP, black engine, '83 red

2016 XL883L sigpic Two-tone blue and white. Almost 42 hp! Status: destroyed, now owned by the insurance company. The hole in my memory starts an hour before the accident and ends 24 hours after.

Yeah not needed. Though if you had a wobble then you need to find out what is causing it.
