1980 gsx 750 front brake binding.

hi all, just been away for first road trip and had a few issues!posted in electrical, and also had this, bike started to drag, thought mechanical, pulled over and smoke coming from discs!we bled the brakes, but didn't change, had to come back with just back brake, not ideal.it did free up when released the pressure from bleed nipples, binding both sides,so would this indicate servo failure?or any other suggestions?help appreciated as ever

Sounds like you need to strip the brake system down and give everything a really good clean. There are some tiny holes in the master cylinder and if you've got any crud in there they can get blocked and if you block the return one it will display the symptoms you report.

sounds like master not letting pressure back with blocked return port as Hampshire hog says, had that on mine ,brakes had all been rebuilt but had tiny bit of dirt block port and gave same symtoms as you had smoking discs!! and a lack of forword motion when changing gear.not good

          Yup
Crud in the lines block the tiny return ports.
