Front calipers wont go back on

    Hi everyone,

I recently removed the front wheel on my 79 GS1000L to have a tire fitted. Upon reassembly, I have run into trouble getting the brake calipers to go back onto the rotors. I've tried using a c-clamp to depress the actuator arm and a flathead screwdriver to pry the pads apart(with the bleed valve open) to no avail. The pads won't spread enough to fit over the rotors. They worked fine before I took them off. Any suggestions?

    Thanks

Remove the caliper pistons and clean the crud out. Then do the same thing for the master cylinder and replace the brake lines. Problem solved.

Thank you for the quick response! I'll give that a try, hopefully that solves it.
