While you are at it, I would pull the steering stem off and check, clean/replace grease the steering head bearings. Might have been awhile since they were even looked at. Check the wheel bearings as well. And check the slider bushings in the fork legs and fork tubes.Comment

Top Tip: When draining the oil from the fork legs, make sure you have relieved the internal air pressure, else a jet of very smelly, black, evil oil will hit you right on the ear, nose or forehead. It just missed me the last time.
I'd spent years with non air forks and this was the first set of air forks I'd stripped in decades, so was not quite au fait with them.Dave
