78 750B dual disc swap

Can someone who has done this swap confirm a few things for me,



If I wanted to stay with the stock 35mm forks, All I would need is two 77-79 750E lower fork legs, 1 LEFT, 1 RIGHT caliper's and bracket's? (obviously new pads, lines)

If I wanted to go with the 850G caliper's and caliper bracket's, they will not fit the lower fork legs of a 750E? They will only bolt onto the 850G 37mm fork legs?



The dilemma is that I have 83 850G front rotors, calipers's and bracket's but the pistons are not salvageable,
so my debate is to either find an 850G set of forks, tree's etc, all ballz tapered conversion kit, caliper pistons or find lower 750E lower legs, calipers, bracket's.
From what I've searched the 83 rotors will fit the 750 front hub and work with either 750 or 850 caliper and brackets.

If you're sticking with the 750 forks you only need the right fork and of course the right brake parts including an extra brake line and T connector depending on what you're doing for brake lines. I'm guessing you already have the left one. Pretty sure the 850 calipers won't fit the the 750 forks.

Sorry Rob, the Op is correct.

The single disc models have a larger disc, thus a different left fork leg, than the twin disc E model

So, yes, E model fork lowers and discs

IDK about the 850 calipers matching up

I knew the 750 single rotor is bigger, I've cross referenced the caliper bracket and the 850 and 750 use different ones, I'd rather try and find 750 lowers just because my upper tubes have no corrosion or pitting.

What I'm more curious to know is which rebuild kit and which caliper pistons are still available?

Also can someone confirm for me that 83 850G slotted front rotors will work with 76-79 750E dual disc, stock calipers and brackets?

I would be using the slotted rotors on a 750B spoke front rim with the 35mm 750E lower fork legs, calipers and brackets.
