    Katana Rearset s Choice

Have a Project Katana, Turned into a Monoshock, Now ready to weld up mounts for rear sets, The previous mad fellow just did such a hack job on the frame, I had a CWB welding instructor and I go through a entire tank and a half of argon (These were the small Tanks!) to properly weld the offending bits properly. I don't feel competent enough to TIG Weld Bike Frames. My forte is Machining. Anyhow the original rear set control mounts have all been removed and I wondered what rearset brands have been used with some success, Like nice quality manufacture and price,. I thought of making a set but time vs cost, makes it almost pointless. Already have too much time wrapped up in my Bikes, Thanks Guys Mike

Well got lucky the busa rearsets will work very nicely. Just have to recreate a rear frame tube arrangement to bolt it up in the correct spot. Mike

I used Busa rear sets also. Easy and cheap to find on E-bay. I made my own brkts just because I wanted to make my own brkts for the look, but with a competent welder you could put them almost anywhere to fit you. Kat's are a pretty tight fit for the legs. May have to shorten or lengthen your shift rod.

Would definitely love to see pic's of the Busa rearsets on the Kat (I'm assuming we're talking original '80's Kat here?) and what you have to do with linkages etc. to make them work.
