Not sure from your pic, but normally the "open" side with the spring goes down. The top side should just be solid.Current:

No big deal - it will either be ok or start to leak.....which means you get to practice your fork seal replacement again.Current:

Ha, that's just what it did. That side was leaking. Judging by the lips in the seal, Im pretty certain that that one was flipped. Both sides had springs, but one side had the pictured raised lip...
