    GS1100EZ vs GS1150 Fork Lengths?

I swapped out the forks and trees from a GS1150 (1984) and put them on my GS1100EZ (1982), but I never actually measured the lengths of the forks. Does anyone happen to know how much difference there is in the lengths... if any? I'm just curious.
    Thanks!

I can tell you that the 83 - 750 (also 16" wheel) has forks that are approx 2.5-3" longer. All from memory (and from a long time ago when I built my 750 so I could be making all this up!) but about 35" instead of 32" rings a bell... something like that anyway!

They are also wider. The 1150 especially so. It's 16" wheel has a hub that is wider & from memory the brake rotors mount .75" further outboard (each side) compared to hub centre.

I thought I would have the numbers but do not. In theory with the same profile F tire the difference would be 1/2 of 19"-16" at most 1.5".

My notebook says my 82 1100E forks are 31" from center of axle to end of tube. It is from 13 years ago and is a very quick scribbled notation, so take it for what it's worth...

Thanks guys! This forum is a cornucopia of information. I'll go out and measure my 1150 front this weekend and make notes in my manual.

Will do. I will try to get it as accurate as I can and post it up.

The 1150 forks are about 32.5" from center of axle to top of tubes.

                    Thanks

                    I have the GS1100E at 30.75"
                    so the delta is: 32.5"-30.75"=1.75"
                    An approximation is
(19"-16")/2=1.5" but you have to add a little for the fork rake take off a bit for the taller 16" profile.
