Shocks on a Gs1000
Would these be good on a 1978 gs 1000 with a 300 lb rider?Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/201835135366Tags: None -
They are harsh out the box. I'd go for so.ething a little higher end. Progressives at least83 GS1100ES rebuild:

They might work, but the question would be "for how long"?
I think a better option would be to contact Dave at Dave Quinn Motorsports and discuss some Hagon shocks. Yes, they will cost a bit more, but I think you will appreciate the difference. Dave will select the shock bodies with the proper damping for your gravitational attraction and riding style, then select the proper springs and put them together before shipping them to you. Many of us have Hagons and enjoy them. In my stable, only my wife's bike has them, we ordered them an inch shorter for her. I have my Koni shocks that I am not giving up, my son is somewhat satisfied with the cheapie EMGO shocks that were put on a few years ago, but is considering Hagons before our excursion next year.

In suspension you get what you pay for. $80 shocks will work as well as expected, considering even basic quality shocks are 3x that price.Would these be good on a 1978 gs 1000 with a 300 lb rider?Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/201835135366

The RFY and Tec shocks can be upgraded to very good status by sending them to CL Mototech.
Pricing then puts them comparable to low end Hagons.
Just another option if you are mad for the piggyback look.
