Hey men, I spoke with someone at ikon Suspension today about fork springs for my 1981 550 and she could only find a listing for 1983 onwards. Will these fit my bike?

Go to Alphasports.com parts diagrams and check the part numbers for both . Might give you some info .
I bought shocks for my GS1000S and was real happy . They seem to be very knowledgeable . -
I had forgotten that Ikon also had fork springs.
I took a look at their webpage and saw that they are progressively-wound. Do you have anything available that is straight-rate? If not, it might be worth the difference in price to get some Sonic springs and have them shipped. Many of us have Sonic springs and prefer them over Progressive (brand) springs, manily because of the single spring rate. The owner of the company is a member here (Rich Desmond), but unfortunately, we don't get get a discount.
Back to your bike: if you can't find anything for your 550, look at listings for a 650. Same general size and weight of bike, so should work.
