Changing the stance of my GS450L

    Hi All
I'm in the process of restoring a 450L (not to original spec) and I would like to change it's stance from this

As far as I can tell from previous post he has fitted an 18" rear wheel from a GS450E and kept the orginal front with 30mm shocks. My question is, is 450E rear wheel a staight swop
Also I can't insert more than one picture per post

Back in the day we'd set the bike up without shocks to where we wanted it to sit then measure the distance between the mounts and hit the swap meet to find that length. Using that concept you should be able to shop around on the net to find what you want.

What wheels will bolt on a 450L with minimal alterations
I know someone has fitted a 17” rear and and 18” front to achieve
        the same look

These are the wheels I’d like 17” and 18”

Sam000lee has a thread on his 450. I think he did wheel swaps.

Yes, one pic per post unless you use an image host link.

Edit.... I see that you grabbed pics from his thread.....

The GS450 wheels should all be interchangeable so if those are from another GS450 you should be good. Up front I have the stock GS450L 19" wheel and the back is a stock GS450E/S 18" wheel. I'm not sure what bike a 17" wheel would come from - maybe a GS450T?

There’s nothing out there in the uk at the moment I’ll keep looking if nothing turns up I’ll have to go with what I’ve got and look into tyres and maybe shortening the forks
