Brake Noise Tapping

Ive got 87 GSXR 750 front rim/fork/brakes on my GS, and they work great, but yesterday I noticed an odd tapping noise coming from my front end while driving below about 15mph. After I got home I put it up on a jack and spun the front wheel and the tapping is coming from the right side brake caliper. The pads are pretty new (less than 1000 miles on them). I don't see any wave on the rotor when I spin it. But when I move the wheel back and forth I can hear the pads moving around and make noise. I don't hear it on the other caliper. Maybe they aren't retracting enough on that side?
Any suggestions of how to quiet them up?

I had this exact thing on my 88 Honda and its pads ride on pins like yours I think. I see there's springs on your pins that are different than my Honda but I'd look at those too.

On mine, one of the pins was "different" so I replaced it, fiddled and cleaned everything including the backing plates of pads and problem went away.

I figured I'd pull the caliper off, clean everything, check the "springs" and pins, and make sure the pistons are clean and move free.
I've got an extra set of parts calipers I can get parts from if I need to. They work fine, its more of an annoyance than anything.

My 1150 does the same. In my situation the holes in the calipers that the pad retaining pins sit in are worn. They make a clacking sound when the brakes are first applied and also over bumps. Most noticeable at low speeds. No noticeable affect on braking.

Just wanted to update this. I pulled the pads out and noticed one of the spring clips didn't have any tension on the pin so I bent it a little, cleaned the pins and used a little brake grease on the pins and on the clips and now the noise is gone.

Thanks for update...hasn't happened to me on bike, but experienced it on early car discs way back.
