DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Went along some backroads in the area and ended up on Paarl Mountain, a granite outcrop on the outskirts of Paarl. a large town in the winelands region near Wellington where I stay.

This is the view looking towards the city of Cape Town, about 40 miles away as the crow flies, with Table Mountain just visible on the horizon.

That's interesting. Over here the white lines are on the shoulder and the yellow are in the center. The double yellow means, unless you're a real turkey, stay in your lane!

A person would think that road markings all over the world would be done according to a universal code to avoid confusion for international travellers!

It was warm enough today to ride the bike to a doctor's appointment so I went by the Dayton VA Medical Center this morning and took some pictures of the oldest building on the campus. Built in 1868, the Protestant Chapel has seen a lot of people in it since President Lincoln first authorized the Soldier's Asylums in 1865. Some history of the Dayton VA if you are interested:

They are renovating some of the church so I had to cut off the construction fence and light pole but here's the sign at the rear

I was wondering why pavement didnt dry out when was 40 in the morning and 50 in the afternoon with partly sunny. Geepers I found out. Seems like humidity must be real high, was a fine mist in the air it seemed.

Ah, maybe finish leaf raking some other day.,

But, still, good to get out.

Ice and snow. Studs are on the TUX... Nice slow adventurous ride over a frozen river and through the woods. Sure would be nice if we got a thaw...

Hope everyone had a safe and great holiday season!

No ride yesterday but I did get out for a round of golf with my father in law. That was fun...I used to golf a lot and was a member at a club here until I got back into motorcycles 8 years ago.Soon found out I couldn't afford the time and the money to do both...:)

Thanks for sharing fellas.

I applaud you guys out riding in the snow, having never seen it personally myself I reckon that would be quite the cold and slippery riding experience!

As for me, out for the usual Saturday morning ride although a short one yesterday. Not too hot which was nice.

Did the usual 65 mile loop on the Kat yesterday.
Cold 39F, semi damp roads, didn't stop for photos.
Been more than a month since the last ride, felt good to be back in the saddle.

With the unusual above 40? temps all week, I've been able to ride all my bikes.
Rode the 1100G today with the luggage rack bolted on.

It was good to ride for an hour or so this afternoon. Plenty of warm layers and a balaclava made a huge difference in keeping the chill out. I was toasty warm for the most part, but really need to take the time to run the wires through my jacket for the heated glove liners next time.

I wanted to grab a pic of the setting sun on the snow covered mountains. Man, the colors were breathtaking, but it was gone by the time I found a spot for a pic.
