A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Pic of the week game

Dorkburger’s, pic.
(Me and my ‘68 Honda visited the West Rim (Colton Point) in 1969!)

So....Happy Saturday Morning GSR! Let's tally up the votes...

With one vote each, Redman, Eli69, and Steve Murdoch
With two votes each, kerrfunk, dorkburger, and Rich82GS750TZ

And with three votes, and a big staircase, 650Skull

(Confirmation would be nice:))

Dam, I posted a wackey relating pic just to play the game not expecting to get a vote.

11pm here and in bed. Will post a theme in the morning first thing.

Drop the 650 in posts to or about me. It's a nickname I got 50 or so years ago.

How does one get Skull as a nickname.

First/Christian name is Alex. Middle and common name is Doug, (long story longer than this one), so a bit of skullduggery becomes Skull.

This pic was taken the next day after i went past the area the day before.............wild flowers in a paddock, flowers in the foreground with a broken fence............thought they would make a good backdrop for the bike

Thanks for the confirmation, and thanks for an interesting theme. I like it, Doug.

So I'm a big fan of the Band...and of course the Last Waltz....I play the DVD in my garage often....Vince knows this as when he and his wife were here we watched it in my garage and Vince's wife loved it....I sent her my DVD :)
Anyway on a trip to Vegas for my brother in law's wedding some years ago I rode through San Francisco for the first time and I looked up the address of where the Last Waltz concert was held at Winterland Theatre because I wanted to get a pic of my bike in front of it......

Well lol....of course the theatre had been taken down many years ago and was now condos....

So there ya have it...a photo I "especially went out to look for and take" :)

I always pass this church on the way to an annual gathering, and liked its rural hilly background. Also, it's a United Methodist church and I'm a United Methodist pastor.

I went out to get some photos of the lava flow West of Albuquerque. This is relatively young lava flow, maybe less than 4k years ago in the Zuni-Bandera Volcanic Field.

Can't compete with the clarity of some of these pictures but for some reason I am kinda partial to this one for some reason.

I rode out to one of my favorite mountain vistas for the sole purpose of getting an image of bike with sunset in the background. I’ve posted some images from this vista in this thread, and have won the week with them. On this occasion, I got there, located the bike precisely where I wanted it. Then a white van with a Mennonite family pulls up, just at sunset. All the girls pile out, crowd my shot and whip out smartphones. I wasn’t even mad. Sunset turned out to be less that spectacular. But this shot is a keeper, for sure. :)

I rode to here, about 15 miles from home, specifically on an overcast day, specifically at time of day for this light in this direction, specifically to pose bike for picture with this background. ANd then went for more of a ride.

I liked this pose,
but I chose a different shot/pose with a more direct profile for my submission to BikeOfTheMonth (because it was my observation that that is what the editor seemed to like).

Didn't expect to get a 2nd transmission on my brand new (6 month old) Motorcycle at 20K miles.

I've heard that the water-cooled Triumph classics are having major gearbox issues. Too bad since the older air-cooled versions were so bullet-proof. I'm casually looking at a Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 to scratch my current retro itch... they're getting surprisingly rave reviews.
