DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

How do Mikuni BS34SS Carbs vent float bowl?

Now that I have the carbs apart again, I can see there IS a vent nipple on each carb, just above the fuel tee. There was never any hoses connected to them, so I had assumed that they were just another plugged off passage when I rebuilt the carbs. Thank you so much for your help! I will be...

How do Mikuni BS34SS Carbs vent float bowl?

Hello, looking at the roof of the float chamber, I only see one passage, other than the jets. It can be somewhat seen in this tutorial on page 33, just above the pilot jet. https://gsarchive.bwringer.com/mtsac/~cliff/storage/gs/mc_maint/GS_CV_Carb_Cleaning_Series.pdf It connects to the hole in...

How do Mikuni BS34SS Carbs vent float bowl?

Thanks for responding! I have an 85 GS450, so only two carbs, and only one fuel tee that only connects to the petcock. I do see the hole in the intake of the carbs coming from the airbox, across from the pilot air jet, but I am not sure where it should lead to in the float chamber. I don't see...

How do Mikuni BS34SS Carbs vent float bowl?

Hello, I am trying to understand how my carbs should be venting, as I believe it is causing an issue with fuel delivery. These carbs do not have a vent tube, but instead are supposed to vent back through a passage near the pilot air jet. Inside the carb body, I can see a passage leading from the...

Front tire rubbing against fender after tire change (85' GS450)

I have just reinstalled my front wheel after having the tire changed, and I notice that the tire is slightly rubbing against the fender on the left side, but it has clearance on the right side. The tire is lined up with the fender, but seems to be slightly offset sideways from where it should...

Reading Key Code On Ignition Switch

Hello, I've got my ignition switch out to find the key code so I can get a new key cut for it. I found the key code, but I'm not sure that I am reading it correctly. It looks like a 411, but it seems like the 4 is backwards so I might be reading it the wrong way round. I've attached a photo...

Finding positive wire running from battery to ignition switch

Yes, I was wondering where the red wire that goes to the key switch starts? I can see where exits the wiring harness near the ignition, but I cannot see where it enters it. It seems there should be a bullet connector on this wire that I can connect the battery to, but I cannot find where it is.

Finding positive wire running from battery to ignition switch

Hello, I have been working to restore a 1985 GS450L, but I have been having trouble locating a specific wire. Among other problems, the bike is missing the positive terminal wire and fuse completely. I made a new wire to connect to the starter relay, but I am having trouble with the smaller...
