A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

1100G(GK) ignition switch stuck in Park position

This also happened to me and the fix was to use a new freshly cut key, cut to the code for your bike. The key was worn down and not able to move the pins in the tumbler to the correct positions.

NGK B8ES spark plug replacements: Autolite or Champion?

The plugs from the UK are genuine and come well packaged. They arrive rather quickly after ordering.

I would appreciate input on LED head lights lights and accessory lights

The Triumph part is well made and plugs directly into the 775. Your stator wires will solder onto those leads along with the positive and negative wires. It looks nice and neat and could be sealed with silicone if you wanted to.

What year did Suzuki eliminate the headlight switch ?

All 3 of my 1981's still had the switches, but they were pinned inside to be in the on position only.

    1982 GS1100gl project

If you have access to a lathe with a tail stock, you can set the counter shaft up in the chuck and use the tail stock to get that spring unloaded. Works very good, easy and safe too. Your work is very good and is nice to see craftsmanship being used to keep these bikes going.

    '81 gs1000g starter clutch compatability

You can also search for the crank assembly and some of them have the rotor and starter clutch still attached. But there is a lot of extra cost for shipping that way. They can be welded, but how true they will be afterwards depends on the type of welding used.

    1980 gs1000g starter clutch

The only ones I was able to find were ones still attached to the cranks. Alot of extra expense for shipping to be able to get the part you need. I did repair mine and the write up is in the "Engines, starter, and clutch section. On mine the pins and plugs had pushed through the outside formed...

Sorry about about not stating the bike I was working on, but yes this is for the 1000 GL. This repair will work on all the bikes that use this type of starter clutch system.

    Starter clutch repair.

For those people who need to repair a damaged starter clutch that has had the pins blown out or denting the formed metal piece that is dimpled to hold it in place. In my case 2 of the 3 pins had blown right through the wall. The pins and springs were missing and later found in the sump. The 3rd...
