A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

78 gs750C direct swing arm swap?

First post in the forum, I’m sure there’s a thread out there about this, but apparently there’s no search function in the forum ‍♂️. Riding season is over, I’m in the PNW, and while the bike is down for the remainder of the year, I have some modifications I’d like to do. my main thing is a...

    VM26SS issues?

Alright, so the condensers did the trick. I set the floats and tuned them today and it’s running like a champ! Thank you all for your input and advice!

    VM26SS issues?

Awesome and thank you. Yes I’m already doing the valve clearances. so, I replaced the condensers. The bike is running much better. However, now that I’ve got the color tune on it I can’t get a good air fuel adjustment. So, my jets are too big. I’m having a hell of a time finding the correct...

    VM26SS issues?

I’m hoping to be able to ride this thing back and forth from Portland and Seattle. Any other upgrades you guys can suggest for more reliability would be greatly appreciated. its my first bike, and I’m enjoying it a lot. Just don’t want to end up on the side of the road 100miles from home lol.

    VM26SS issues?

I’m definitely leaning more ignition. I’ve cleaned the tank, I’ll probably coat it soon just to be safe. Vacuum is working well, to the petcock and petcock is clear of any debris. I’ll report back once I have installed the points and condenser. should have it done tonight or tomorrow. Thank you...

    VM26SS issues?

I ordered condenser and points from a reputable dealer, should be here today. I’m thinking ignition too. It idles fine, it’s under load where it misses. I’m definitely going to convert to the Dyna S later this summer, just want to make sure the bike is running right before I start making changes.

No, I was on a full tank when I left the house. Fueled the day before.

    VM26SS issues?

I set them at 25mm as-well. They still need a little adjusting, but I’m not sure that the floats would cause power surges. It literally jolts as if I’ve got power then bogs, then jolts again and back fires. It’s a cycle.

    VM26SS issues?

You may be right, I’ll get some on order and see if that’s the culprit. Considering I changed the coil packs and nothing came of it, that could be it. I was getting pretty frustrated with everyone telling me it’s the “Carbs”. I’ve gone through those things 5 times in the past 3 weeks.

    VM26SS issues?

Yes, the valves didn’t need adjusting. I did clean and adjust the points.

    VM26SS issues?

I have a 78 GS750C, I got the bike about 2 months ago. Cleaned the carbs, rebuilt them and it ran like a top! Took the bike out for my first “long ride” (60+ miles), at about the 40 mile mark the bike started surging and cutting out, popping and back firing. I limped the bike home via back...
