A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

It runs! Gs550/650 Top end swap w/pics

I'm... Not sure that's right. Using GS750 pistons you do need to do some work. But I had no head clearance issues with my GS650 top end on my GS550 bottom end.

I .. believe I lost my images. I'll see what I can find. The pictures aren't a lot of help honestly. "the parts fit" You need to relieve the case a little so it will sit.

    GS550 Bored 740cc Officially Done!

Yes. Yes it is. I bet.. we can find if i'm lying by searching the forum. I can't be bothered at the moment. :-) Dealing with memory that's 15 years on is less reliable than posts I made 15 years ago. .............. I'd do a much better job on the bike now, than I did then.

    GS550 Bored 740cc Officially Done!

No dyno run personaly, I believe someone else has. The trouble there is they did it differently. Stock clutch is fine for the torque. Same clutch on the GS650. For horsepower, you can do some back calculations. Top speed with 549cc, was 110mph. After, 140. IIRC... it's been a while...

The Next Nerobro's HowTo: Doing the Stator Dance

1983 GS550ES. That was indicated somewhere along the line. It's got ~3000 miles on it since then. I think. I"d need to go look. I've checked the stator several times, and because I used larger diameter wire, it's always given 80+ volts instead of the 90+ we really want. But that's not...

Suzuki GS 6/550 Yes, 672 block and pistons on a 550 cases..

As it stands, the engine is now in my 1980 GS550E, and will crank over. And makes spark. Attaching the carbs is anotehr story. The carbs I'm tyring to put on are the carbs that came WITH THE ENGINE, but appear to be almost 1/2" to narrow. We're chalking that up to time hardening the carb...

Suzuki GS 6/550 Yes, 672 block and pistons on a 550 cases..

It's been done. Skreemer and I have made the GS650 head, block, and pistons fit on a GS550 crank and block. There's a lot more involved than originally thought. First, the block wouldn't fit down into the crankcase. The cylinder liners don't actually touch down in thecrankcase so it was a...

Nope. But one wire is longer than the other.

Potential Group Purchase - Wiseco GS650 741cc pistons

Yes, there are rubber gaskets in the corners for oil supply. The stock 650 headgasket does have some sort of sealing coating on it. I was about to sell my 5/650 conversion... I may need to keep that around now...
