DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Bike randomly died while riding.

Hi colin, best to start a new thread related to that issue and add some more info/pictures and it will get more visibility.

    GS-450 project bike i bought

I'm working on my 450... Looked into the airbox and there is no filter! The mesh had completely disintegrated, it runs great but I imagine no filter will lead to carbs getting dirty quick.

    Bike randomly died while riding.

I cannot start it anymore, not even with a jump and starter fluid. I'll try again maybe there was something I missed - all plugs out throttle open

    Bike randomly died while riding.

Did the compression test today... All in the range of 55-65 PSI, engine was cold as it wasn't running. Just no idea why it's so low. Could timing be an issue?

    Bike randomly died while riding.

All the plugs were dry and black, memory can be hazy so I'll share a pic tomorrow. Sadly I already replaced both coils on this bike this past year, so Im hesitant to put my thinking there, and it had the same (definitely separate to my current one) hot start issue with the older coils. Sort...

    Bike randomly died while riding.

Yeah valves was initially probably the biggest problem, adjusted them to spec about 2 months ago. Thanks for the other suggested tests if compression really shows a problem I'll update when performed.

    Bike randomly died while riding.

Tried with starter fluid and connected to my car battery. Wouldn't start, tried putting the old r/r back on and same deal. Also noted spark was present in all cylinders, blue + orange, petcock operational, no kinked hoses, fuel was present in the bowls. I guess next step is a compression test...

    Bike randomly died while riding.

I got back to it today but forgot my starter fluid... Voltage was 12.6. Bowls had gas. 4 things I noticed - Airbox was a little loose, possibly leaking. oil present in the airbox coupler, I guess overflow from the breather, is that normal? Not excessive but it is noticeable. One of my...

    Bike randomly died while riding.

So I noticed my bike randomly start struggling as I was about 3 miles from my house, barely accelerating downhill. It died as I pulled over to what used to be a motorcycle mechanic shop (that would have been great but they moved a few months ago). Any GS wizards have something similar happen to...

    Wobble at low speeds

Much, much better. I almost have a fully functioning bike! I do think there is some instability caused by my #3 not firing, I noticed its exhaust never really gets hot - so I guess my bike is more of a heavy gs550 at the moment. Checked for spark and its there, this carb was rebuilt so I think...

    Wobble at low speeds

Alright an update and I'll take some pictures before putting back together. Fixed up the control lights and I was just going to do wheel alignment, but I had forgotten to grease my rear brake and I remember it was squeaking, so... I really should inspect the swingarm anyway since it's on that...

2001 Toyota Camry - Anyone familiar with these?

Not the same but similar - I had a 5th gen accord, great car but they need transmission rebuild around 160k miles if auto (ask if it has been done already and by who) and engine work in the 200k range, or the engine uses as much oil as it does gas lol. Aside from that, if you need inspection...
