I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

could Mix setting drastically affect vacuum sync?

I have a '79 gs1000 with K&N knock off Oval pods, 4:1 header and open exhaust (3" pipe with two anti reversion cones and a short 2" reducing tail pipe. It's running pretty well (not perfectly crisp off idle but it does idle and it does rev without limit or stumble) and it sounds nice but I'm...

'79 gs1000 service manual including wiring diagram

Thanks in advance for your interest/help here but I found some recommended settings and reset the fuel to one turn and the air to 2 turns but its still a long way off idling right because #1 and #3 Ex pipes are cold... I verified spark on #1 and can't imagine a timing ignition problem being so...

'79 gs1000 service manual including wiring diagram

thanks Jordan, But I had found that link on here and it doesn't open for me correctly. I get a bunch of code/txt as shown below excerpt. However, I did manage to find a 1980 factory manual online and resolved my electrical start/spark problem to the main kill switch (I've fixed this a few...

I have a '79 gs1000e and it ran this past fall but it was rough/erratic so I pulled the carbs to do intake manifold o rings. I went through the carbs but they were really clean from previous owner.. got it back together today and have no spark. In fact, the starter button doesn't work either...

'97 katana 600 front end and wheels swapped onto my '79 gs1000e chain drive

thanks Brandon. So nobody else here on GS resources have experience good or bad with swapping a later model front end into their GS?? Brandon's change in rake (and trail) I would think to be a major change in geometry and ride stability but he reports nimble and solid up over 100mph (but still...

    wheel swaps for 1977 gs750

Sorry I'm doing a last minute run to a far off motorcycle junkyard to get a carb set for another bike and was just thinking of the 1977 gs750 I'm bringing back to life. The front forks and spokes are very rusted as are the rear spokes and the rear tire or disc might be off as the rear caliper...

    stainless exhaust studs

thanks all! I found an engineering guide on Practical machinist which said a stud should be inserted to a depth 2.5 times the diameter. I think that spreads the load and no more strength is obtained until going to a larger diameter stud. with about 20mm inserted, looks like I need the 50mm...

    stainless exhaust studs

    '84 gs850 parts swap to a '77 gs750 or '79 gs1000

Thanks grimly! My '79 gs 1000 has mags and dual discs up front... But you say I could swap the whole front with trees onto my '77 gs750? My '77 has rusty rims, rusty forks, and a warped rear rotor. So the '84 has longer lower legs or tubes or both and I should slide them up through the trees...

    '84 gs850 parts swap to a '77 gs750 or '79 gs1000

Thanks UK nut! Any good sources on those stainless spokes here in the States? But then my rims are kinda rusty too.. I was thinking I take then smooth and follow with an etching primer and rustoleum wheel paint. Not sure if this is a shaft bike but if not, I think the mag wheel swap will be...

    '84 gs850 parts swap to a '77 gs750 or '79 gs1000

I have a line on a '84 gs850 parts bike complete, cheap, says it needs carb work and no title... I'm looking at the CV carbs wondering if they might fit on my '77 or '79 (looks like below link says not without a head swap). and also looking at the header *(picture looks like a 4:1) and I'm...

    paint rusty frame
