A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Pic of the week game

We haven't had a drive in theater in town since 1995 so that was a rare treat. Never watched a movie with rain gear on so that was a first too, haha. I'm glad you guys liked that pic. Good times! As far as a new theme, hmmmmm.... How about Transformed. Interpret as you will...

We caught a spontaneous drive in movie on the GS a while back. The drive in was in Las Vegas, NM, nearly 150 miles from here. We grabbed a motel after the movie and added a few hundred more miles to the trip the next day. The guy in the ticket booth was super cool. We chatted for a few minutes...

    Very nice! :clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:

    Stator, The GSR travelling mascot.

I thought maybe his last name could be bear in Maori, but that is simply translated to Pea. Maybe another word that represents his free spirited life, but in Maori?

Dang, Rich. I never even asked him his last name. Dude was here for a couple of weeks at least. We had some beers and he helped me change out my stator, then he just high tailed it to Ohio. Thanks for doing all that for the little guy.

Yep, it's the third one from the left. Or is it the fourth, hmmm. ?\_(ツ)_/?

This week I'd ask a question. What's the first thing you see at the end of a ride that says, I'm almost home? These are the city lights from 9 mile hill as you approach Albuquerque from the West. You can see the light on the horizon for miles, but coming over that hill is quite a sight...

Thanks guys. That was a difficult one. Seemed simple enough to grab a single frame from a video, which is what I did, but it was harder than I thought. The sudden intense light just overpowered (overexposed) everything in the frame. I took hundreds of still shots in several locations and got...

I like Bob's pic, it says a lot. Perfect weather, great road, beautiful scenery and a really nice looking GS! Baatfam for me this week.

Challenging to get things in focus here. Best I could do this time.

    Pic of the week game

We've had a pretty rainy weekend so far. Yesterday's ride was jus gray and wet, nothing picturesque about it. Maybe later today I'll find something.

I think this fits the bill. It's a replica of the original gate house, though.

Very nice picture to start the theme, dorkburger I missed an opportunity to go to an open house at Spaceport America today. That would have been my entry. I'll find something, it'll have to be an evening ride this week.

I like it, Rich. Thanks for posting this.

    Not Brand New, But New

Gotcha. Well, I'm really curious now. I haven't heard of any more efficient carbs for these 8 valve GS's than the stock Mikuni BS32. I can think of one 850 that's running a single carb with a custom manifold. That, as I recall, is more out of necessity and didnt yeild any gain in power. Grimly...

    Not Brand New, But New

Welcome back Jprice. I probably wasn't around yet when you were more active on this site, nonetheless, Welcome! Curious about your "going the newer route " with the carbs. Did you mean new cleaning methods, like ultrasonic, or different carbs?

    GS1000 "retromod" build questions

Sounds like you're going to have fun with this. Subscribed! I think member Agemax fitted a GSXR shock to his GS1000. Maybe his photos are somewhere else other than the bucket. https://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/forum/technical-forums/appearance/61632-new-gsxr-rear-shock-ready-to-fit

Back at ya, Dave. Voting for Redman. The image, to me, is reminiscent of the opening to a cave. Possibly from The Goonies, with the carb drain screws as stelagtites, about to be crashed through by a pirate ship. Speaking of which, where are the drain screws on your carbs, Carter Turk ?
