If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

LED Turns WITH stock self cancelling (Working)

Update 7/25 I was able to make 3D printed case to house the flasher and relay. Finding a male flasher plug with wires was impossible, so I bought a cheap flasher from the auto parts store a took it apart and stole the metal blades out of it. Now I have the whole thing in one box slightly bigger...

    Long and Short Plug Boots

I did mean 2 & 3. And I did mean straight. But to be clear they’re long and straight with a short 90 at the end. Or nearly 90 degrees. I think you’re onto something. Looking at bass cliffs plug cap guide, his are pointed out. Although his look a lot shorter than the ones I have. Also...

    Long and Short Plug Boots

When I say "middle two" I mean cylinders 2 & 3. Look at how close the #2 plug is to the valve cover. you can even make out where the rubber on the boot is starting to crack. I have about 0.0" to lift that long ass cap up before it hits the sharp edge of the valve cover, and then I have to...

    Long and Short Plug Boots

82 GS1100GK. It has NGK plug caps and what looks to be stock coils. The two inner caps, for cylinders 2 & 3, are long and straight and the two outer caps are short and angled. This makes removing the plug caps from the two inner cylinders really hard. So difficult in fact, that the rubber...

4th clutch cable in 10 months

The routing is as depicted in the manual. The handlebars are not stock. I'm using the Emgo wide handlebars. But the alignment of the perch / cable routing is nearly perfectly straight. The bars are wide, but not very sloped. The pull is easy, and from what I can tell it does not bind up at...

4th clutch cable in 10 months

Just as the tooth says, I’m on my 4th clutch cable in the 10 months that I’ve had the bike. At first I thought the first one was just old. I thought the second one was just cheap. After the third one broke I figured out by the third one that it had something to do with the lever because it seems...

    How to raise the needle?

This is what I have suspected all along. Which is why I was attempting to raise the needle. What is this "air corrector" you speak of? Are you suggesting bigger air jets and then a larger main to compensate? It's already got 120 mains. Also, I have a replacement snorkel on order. Had to...

    How to raise the needle?

The stock size should be 115. This bike has 120 for the mains.

    How to raise the needle?

The larger pilots are brand new. The bowls are spotless each time I take them off. And each time I go back and forth with the different pilots, I've inspected them and they're perfect. But I go ahead and soak and clean them anyway just in case. I understand pilots can get dirty and clogged but...

    How to raise the needle?

Effort indeed! I’m glad to hear that. Trying to get the fuel level spot on is an exercise in frustration and a real test to one’s patience. Will try sanding down the needle spacers next and report back.

    How to raise the needle?

Thanks Nessism! This is what I was looking for! So the way to reduce the thickness, if I want to keep it reversable, is to use a stack of washers. Any suggestions on step size? I understand that it depends on what the bike needs, but should I just go in .5mm or .25mm increments each time until I...

    How to raise the needle?

Ah.. ok. There’s an e-clip in the mix. I understand now. I already have 1 over pilot and mains. Last I settled on 2 1/4 turns out and I’ve been riding like that for a while. As it is now, it’s 2 turns out with the fuel level at 2.5 - 3 mm. I reduced the pilot because increasing the fuel...

    How to raise the needle?

I thought that adding washers lowers the needle. Not raises it. No? And I don't disagree about adjusting the pilot. I've been everywhere from 2.5 turns on the stock pilots, to 3 turns out on larger pilots. It runs great at all of those settings, but the hiccup at the transition is always there.

    How to raise the needle?

82 GS1100. Stock air box (missing snorkel if that matters), 4-into-1 delkevic exhaust with baffle, one size up main jets and pilot, valve clearances all within spec. I've been chasing down a stutter at 1/8th throttle for a while now and it seems to be right at the transition between the pilot...

    Question about Float Height

Reviving this thread for an additional question.. I've been having some issues with a "stutter" between 1/8 and 1/4 throttle, only after warmed up. When cruising around 3200 rpms in 3rd or 4th gear, when I apply the throttle the bike will, for lack of a better word, hiccup for a second then...

    High Headwinds Stutter

Funny you should mention that. I have been chasing down a "stutter" at the transition between the pilot and needle handoff so I was double checking my float bowl heights (that's a whole different story) and after the bowl was filled I would gently blow into or apply light suction to the vent...

    High Headwinds Stutter

Nice! Lots of good information there. Who knew this was actually a thing! The part I found most interesting was the explanation about how the side winds cause a pressure equalization between the bottom and top of the jet causing the fuel flow to stop temporarily. I don't run pods (stock air...
