A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Even if the surfaces are good, I still put a thin layer of Blue Hylomar under the washer.

That's completely normal. I usually put blue Hylomar under the copper washers to prevent leaks.

Front guide from GSXR1100 or GSX1100F oil cooled engines and rear guide GSX original guide. When I build my engine I need to shorten the cam chain one link pair. Otherwise the guide had gone too far and only the tip of the guide has pushed the cam chain. My cylinder block is shortened because of...

Install Bandit 1200 cylinder liners on the original cylinder block and bore them for gen.2 Hayabusa pistons. You will save at least the weight difference of the RS Mikuni, the engine capacity will increase to 1360cc and the torque & power will increase nicely.

Nice carbs, but maybe slightly too big for your engine. I had 38 Mikunis on my 1296 cc GSX and they worked quite well. Then I swap the engine to 1360 cc and now the carbs are working perfectly. I think the 34`s would have been better for you if you are not going to racing.

GSXR "DOT" head on my GS1100

Yes, the full story is on oldskoolsuzuki.info. It was a little bit over one year project. It's using GSX1100F cylinder block bored to gen1 Hayabusa pistons, so engine is 1360cc. Camshafts are regrinded, RS38 Mikunis, head ported and a lot of special parts. I hope to see your project ready and...

It can be impossible to get the engine oil cooled with so tiny oil cooler. I have Bandit 1200 oil cooler on my 1296cc EFE and GSX 600 F oil cooler on my 1360cc supercharged EFE. You must make a sacrifice on the altar of thermodynamics at the expense of lightness

I'm looking forward to seeing what settings the carburetors will have. I was trying to get 38RS Mikuni set up for my 1296cc GSX. I couldn't get the mixture lean enough with the y-6 needle jet and the y-3 needle. Either the needle tubes are worn, or they are too rich for my setup.

You can use oil cooled motor rocker arms. Oil cooled motor camshafts have smaller base circle diameter.

    1981 GSX1100 Katana Based Project

I never weighted cylinder block before and after, but weight difference was noticeable, as was with pistons. The whole bike (1150 EFE) after all modifications and rebuild was fuel tank half full weighted in MOT slighltly under 200 kg. RW hp gain was from original 92hp to 142hp.

Getting engine lighter: - Hayabusa gen2 pistons - EFE cylinder block sleeved with Bandit 1200 liners and bored to 81mm - Titanium valve spring retainers - Cylinder head porting - Regrinded camshafts After those modifications your engine is not only lighter, but more powerful = your bike feels...

I ordered Mikuni RS34-40 carburetor rack rebuild kit from Niche cycle about 1,5 month ago. GSXR "DOT" head on my GS1100

Did you had any issues about the cylinder stud length? I using original GS1150 cylinder studs and all of them are about 10 - 12mm too long. I made 10 and 12 mm long "washers" from aluminum to fix that problem.
