    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    I drained the tank two times through the petcock now and it worked fine both times with the gas cap on too. I got the push/pull throttle and new grips on, but didn't get a test ride tonight.

    I wouldn't think so, it was only lifted slightly. If it's an electrical issue or something still in play, I will find out soon enough.

    That's a fact, there was so much voltage drop it wouldn't start. Once I replaced the fuse box it fired right up. Of course, I had already done all of the other things you usually do with a bike that's been sitting.

    It clears well now. The frame had pipe insulation and KZ tank cushions on it to keep the tank up off of the #1 carb top. It still rubbed a little, the 36's clear beautifully. I haven't gotten after it yet, but it clearly takes less throttle to get the same acceleration that it had with the 29's...

    I see the 82-up fuse boxes have blade fuses. I haven't found one with the wiring plug yet, but it appears to take spade type connectors. I need to see if vintage connections has that plug. Littlefield makes a 5 blade fuse holder that you can get at O'Reilly auto parts or elsewhere. #350417BP...

    At the risk of a hijack, how about swapping the 82/83 1100E body parts onto an 81 1100E?

    I got the Mikuni 36 mm radial flatslides on today, it now has the flatslide rattle. Installation was easy, it started easily, no leaks and idled right immediately. I didn't get the push pull throttle, it's due on monday so a real test will need to wait. I'm excited to compare the air/fuel ratios...

    I tested the petcock today, I put the fuel line in a gas can and pulled a vacuum on the petcock with a hand pump. It drained down to where I assume is correct (about 4 gallons) and when put on reserve it drained most of the remaining fuel. This leaves me with no idea why it started missing at...

    Absolutely. There is a good exhaust flow through the probe, it's similar to the ones I've seen used at chassis dyno's. There is no danger of blocking flow in the Kerker on the GS. I've used it on cb750 4-4's with a drilled baffle, RC engineering 4-1, and the GL1000.
