A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Engine to frame ground wire

Hi Guys My bikes got the negative lead straigt from the battery bolted onto the top of the gearbox, but I can't find another ground wire from the engine to the frame. I'm guessing there has gotta be one, surely they dont rely on the engine mounts making the contact? Can anyone tell me where it...

top end rebuild>*bang*>wtf was that noise?

Just a wild thought, and others more knowlegable than I may advise against it. With the drain plug removed, and a bowl underneath, pour a load of diesel in through the top. Repeat a few times, and it may flush the nut out, or nearer the drain so a magnet will hook it.

    Dumb question on exhaust gaskets

Hi This may seem a dumb question but its easier to ask before getting the chisel out. After removing the exhausts on my 82 GSX750E, it appears possible there are no exhaust gaskets. Peering in there with a torch, it seems the PO sealed them with silicone. Of course they may be in there and the...

    Spark Plug Caps

Daylight robbery Daylight robbery You guys are lucky. I just got a quote on some parts in the UK and they wanted ?13.36 each for plug caps, thats $19.84 at todays rates. Postage would have been extra, so well over $80 for all 4 of them. Just checked Z1, and its $11.22 for all 4 including...

Where to get carb dip in the UK

Hi I've pulled my carbs and got them all to bits, bought new o rings and done a preliminary clean. All the good advice is to dip in carb cleaner, but I can't seem to find any available in the UK, either locally or online. Wouldn't be surprised if the Europeans had banned it :( Also bought some...

    Strange starting problem

Gas evaporation Gas evaporation Just for continuity. Yesterday I drained the leftmost bowl, [lowest cos of sidestand], and got very little out. Today pulled the carbs and drained all of them. Even less in there, I reckon about 2 coffe scoops at most. Seeing the size of the breathers / drain...

    Strange starting problem

Hi Been following this thread with interest, as the 82 GSX750EZ I recently bought has a very similar problem. Not actually trying to fix it as the winter refit will take care of that. For what its worth, mine would crank over for ever if left for a week. Pulling plugs shows them bone dry...

Trying to find exact model designation and year of build

Thanks for your replies guys. Hampshirehog, your right, it has the round headlight, Kmh clocks, so 1982EZ seems to be the right choice. I thought it was a pretty rare bike when I first saw it. Anyone into the spooky may appreciate this. The bike kinda picked me rather than the other way...

Hi Guys Just joined, great site, certainly the best I've found in the last few weeks. Hello from the UK. Recently bought a 750, last bike owned was Honda 750K6 in which I sold in 1976! Anyway, intend to return the bike to its former glory during the winter. It has a few issues I expect you'll...
