A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    GS450 E or S gas tank on an L or T model?

Will a GS450E or "S" gas tank fit on a "T" or "L" model? So I don't ask silly questions like this in the future, is there an online resource that would answer any of the typical switching questions regarding GS or GR models of Suzuki?

    '82 GS450 vs 2002 GS500 Ease of maintenance difference?

Thank you for responding! I'd like to stay with the transverse, air cooled twins. Everything you mention is, indeed, words to the wise.Specifically, what about valve adjustments?

    '82 GS450 vs 2002 GS500 Ease of maintenance difference?

Any opinions here on which bike would be more owner friendly in regards to routine servicing or common repairs. It would seem like the '02 perimeter frame might get in the way but of course maybe it's the downtube frame that's a dirty rotten scoundrel?

Helicoil for oil drain bolt on a 1983 GS450E?

Doesn't your thread repair keep you from draining the last pint or so of dirty oil because the thread insert sticks up INTO the pan? Since you took off the pan anyways, could you have inserted the insert from the inside out so the protruding threads would be outside the pan and the inside would...

    Gr650 ???

Some of us would go into cardiac arrest if our pegs dragged in a corner. I've made it my life's goal to never have any part of my motorcycle ever touch in a corner aside from tires. Do mother in laws count?

    Gr650 ???

I don't own a GR650 but I have read about a half dozen motorcycle magazine and owner's testimonies and it seems to be a great feature. Maybe if you raced a GR650 it would hinder acceleration???

    GS450 vs GS500e service accessibility?

This is what I was interested in. It does sort of sound like it's a "six of one, half dozen of another" situation. Thanks for the input!

    GS450 vs GS500e service accessibility?

Sounds like my time would be well spent at the GS Twins forum. Therefore, I shall go there! Thanks for the tips!

    Gr650 ???

That is one comprehensive thoughtful answer. Thank you for taking the time to respond. In my world of love for Japanese transverse air cooled twins, the GR650 is just simply the best looking motorcycle. The seat is not too stepped that I would bother to change it but I would change the...

    GS450 vs GS500e service accessibility?

"Nessism" and yourself have given me welcome, sound advice. Thank You! The way it usually works for me will be that my choice will be anything but simple. Condition will matter, but of course, will it be cosmetic or something in the bottom end of the engine. If it's something mechanical, will I...

    GS450 vs GS500e service accessibility?

Any opinions here from folks who have done their own servicing as to whether a GS450 is more accessible for servicing compared to a GS500e? The GS500e's frame looks like it might get in the way of access to the carbs etc? Any input would be appreciated!

    Gr650 ???

I am currently without a bike but I will more than likely end up with a GS450. I'd rather have a GR650 but they are rare compared to the GS450 or the GS500e. I have been lurking here for quite a while and I admire the professionalism and joy I find here. I'd like to have a forum home here...

    Gr650 ???

How is it that the GR650 Tempter isn't "allowed" here? Maybe more to the point, just because Suzuki gave the 650 air cooled twin the prefix "GR" it would still seem to be a natural progression between the GS450 and the other larger GS models. Kawasaki has no trouble listing both the 750 twin and...

Any feedback about whatever differences there might be for servicing a GS450 vs a GS500e? I'm particularly wondering about valve adjustments but anything of interest in this area will be greatly appreciated. The frame on the GS500e looks like it could be a hindrance for some servicing. I figure...
