A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Float height with tubing: individual or together?

Both of my 1100E machines carburet cleanly and perfectly from idle through redline no matter gear selected. Float height set with caliper on float and carb body without gasket as recommended. To avoid any false reading due to needle spring compressing under float tang..... I use 1 new needle...

    Carburetor hose clamps

Just a thought.....if the intake pipes are old and hardened, clamps will not necessarily fix the 'problem. For less than a hundred dollars new manifold pipes and new OEM clamps will sort out those pesky leaks. https://www.ronayers.com/oemparts/a/suz/50d4040af8700230d8b4ec48/cylinder-head...

Looking for used (good condition) "Detent" part for fork damping adjust; 81 1100E

You are welcome. I have an 83 1100E. Purchased new. I did install the Race Tech emulators, straight rate springs etc. On many of the poorly maintained rural California roads, the change up has made a positive and 'needed' difference. Riding style, roads etc. I think are things to be...

Looking for used (good condition) "Detent" part for fork damping adjust; 81 1100E

If you have not seen this page on the Race Tech site, it is a worthwhile resource I think. Some good pics....and perhaps too a reason for the 'soft' adjustment detents..... Crap and crud ...... Back in the day I purchased an 81 1100E new and sometime in the first year of ownership, one of the...

Recommended black spray paint for chassis/brackets etc? Correct finish? Durable?

VHT Gloss Black Epoxy Paint 11oz I have used this paint on a few motorcycle frames, used it to re paint carburetors on my 83 1100E after factory paint stripped away in prep for dipping etc. Paint is durable. Average price here at a couple of auto parts stores less than $9.00

    530 Conversion Parts in Canada?

Mark, greetings from a former Albertan (Lethbridge) and Vancouverite now living in Sacramento CA. I did the 530 conversion on my 83 1100E in 2014. Because I wanted to reduce RPMs a bit I went with 18 /48 sprockets. Similar diameter to the original 15 / 42 630 sprockets..... no possible swing...

    GS 1100E back to stock

I have owned my 1100ED from new. Stock. 'Conventional' air filter. Even after 15,000 miles of riding...smoky forest fire air etc. filter appears clean. Still have the OEM removable foam sock that slips easily over filter element. Carb changes: 115 main, 47.5 pilot (from 112.5 and 45)...
