A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

The GSR: The last of the great forums?

Maybe it's just a coincidence CBX International became much quieter when some members actively promoted a switch to FB, there are still members there but it's much quieter than it used to be, I wasn't alone is stating I wanted nothing to do with FB. Whereas OldskoolSuzuki like GSR is very...

what did you wrench on today??

I've just completed a ten week project to rewire of my efe eliminating all the oem switches, fuses and relays. It was intimidating at first staring at the mass of electrical spaghetti lying on the floor realizing there was no going back, I know bugger all about electrical systems the biggest...

I have one of those small fairings somewhere in my garage too. Great fab skills, you work three times my speed.

    1980 GSX1100 front end swap

The best OEM fork upgrade I did was converting to Race-tech cartridge emulators and springs, if you have a drill press it's not difficult to install. The conversion retains the oem look while significantly improving suspension. https://racetech.com/page/title/Emulators

another good solution. I struggled with getting the alignment correct for permanent placement of the pegs.

    1980 GSX1100 front end swap

yeah the price rises very quickly when doing swaps, there always seems to be one more item to change out..until there's another that needs replacing as well.

    GSX1100EFE Rebuild

nicely done, the missing lugs are bugger to repair I didn't have any laying about so I shaped my lugs out of wooden dowels. But I wasn't happy with that solution so I converted the panels to polished alloy, no more paint worries.

took gas tank off for winter...

I always drained the carbs but this winter I tried something different I put Sea Foam in the last tank of fuel before I put them away. Both bikes fired up yesterday no problem, if there are any deposits in the carbs from sitting for two months the sea foam should clear it out. I hope it works...

    GSX1100EFE Rebuild

That's an accurate assessment I did commercial painting for a while, 90% prep work, 10% finish. And if the prep work isn't meticulous the finish is crapola.

Tank is gruesome, might be worthwhile to search out something less of a challenge, unless you like challenges.

It's international mostly european but there are also Canadians, Americans, Aussies, kiwis everyone is welcome. I'm also not the only GS resources member there. Only requirements to join are "read and obey" the rules and have a thick skin the comments/humour can be blunt but it's all good. If...

    Posting pics from flickr

I just found a different Suzuki forum to post my pics with zero hassle, I've no patience with the convoluted system here of finding a fiddly photo hosting site. Browse photo folder, click and post, that's how simple it should and can be.

    GSX1150 Rebuild

Start with factory dry weight 524 lbs and deduct weight of any part removed , add back whatever after market you replace it with. Oem exhaust weighs a hefty 34 lbs if you don't have them to weigh. I haven't done a calculation lately for my efe but I believe it's about 480 lbs/ 218kg

    GSX1150 Rebuild

the part in question wasn't styling feature, it was a clumsy attempt to cast light on the plate to meet road legal requirements it was finished in flat black in order to obscure it. My 79 CBX has exactly the same set up as what ensure has manufactured here.

    metallic tinging coming from motor

While modifying my bike I've been discovering new noises, they were always there but I never noticed them until I began eliminating the louder noises. 99% of the noises comes from things that have come loose over 37 yrs or two parts vibrating against each other, as I tighten things up the normal...

    GSX1150 Rebuild

That worked out nicely. When I modified my tail assembly I wondered why didn't Suzuki do exactly what you have done, it seemed the easy solution rather than the complex monstrosity they produced.

    GSX1150 Rebuild

I'd like to go to larger rubber in the future the 16" front doesn't leave many options for tire selection. I don't think I'd need to go to as large 160 on the rear but Ensure is demonstrating it can be done.
