A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Spring compressor or a couple of heavy duty tie downs, the plastic kind you can get at home depot and a c clamp. Clamp down on the spring, use the tie down to kepp it compressed, install make sure the retaining caps and bolts in place, cut the tie down after it's on the bike.

    750 cafe project

Nice job , nice flow to it. IMHO I'd go with either the grey/silver stripe or just red. Black might leave an "unfinished" look, know what I mean? Not as an after thought, but to keep the flow from the seat-tank mating area. I like the old school look of the tail section. Are you leaving the...

Issaacc, I expressed my opinion as you have so many times. never once did I resort to childish name calling as you have. Arrogant **** come on give me the rest of the words...... Handle Bars - ??

I have Superbike style bars on my 1000S. Came with them. No reason to change them The 1100E had drag bars. to low and long a reach for me. I wear a 37" sleeve, but the ycaused me to move too far forward on the seat, johnson and the twins were not pleased. Something else to consider, bar...

My real opinion on how GSs look

I'm not a fan of the L models either. The styling just doesn't attract me. The L reminds me of the "L" Laverne had on her sweater :) Some bikes are attractive, some are rugged looking, some are sexy. Some of us like vanilla, some like chocolate, to each his own. I like old cars, cars from the...

I agree, even tho I own a blue/white Wes Cooley. Every time I see Sharpy's..........man I'm tempted to re-paint it the red/white combo. I don't remember ever seeing red/white combo in the US.

    1980 GS100E 140/80/17 or 130/90/17 Rear Tire

I run a 130 width Dunlop GT501 on my GS1000. No fitment issues and the handling is great. I run the GT both front and rear.

    1982 1100E with GSXR Mods

Another GS1100 done with tasteful mods. Duke also modded his in a similar way. More suspension than motor, unlike some that heavily mod the motor without any suspension work, and wonder why it rides/handles like junk. Amazing what can be done to these bikes and they still retain the...

    1980 GS100E 140/80/17 or 130/90/17 Rear Tire

Agreed. When you put a bigger tire on the smaller rim it pinches it onto the rim, causing the contact part of the tire to distort. Wider does not mean more rubber on the road. And it can adversly effect handling by using a too wide tire.

For you ?? Dunlop GT501 and a matching front would be wonderful
