A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    New crazy on the block

That is one of the best, "new to me" stories I have ever read. Welcome to the GSR.

    I had a crash...a big one!

I am in favour of something like this: https://strategyonline.ca/2019/11/12/saaq-creates-a-safety-barrier-out-of-a-crosswalk/ Hang in there Trevor. I know you know it's going to be a tough road, but you (and Janice) will come out stronger at the end.

Upset? Not so much, but definitely resigned to being given the bum's rush on many fronts in the lower mainland. As they say, first-world problems...

Oops. Sorry about the thread hijack. That doesn't happen (much) around here. Let's try to steer back in the right direction and take the insurance discussion elsewhere.

Yes...and combine government red tape with Strata rules and it just becomes a hot mess. However, after reading through that short thread, I should probably follow up with my insurance broker about storage insurance. We've done it with our SUV, but it still needed to wear a plate, and I'm...

It depends. I have been led to believe they wouldn't be. I believe they are insured while on the road, but are not covered in the context of PLPD in the condo, i.e. should they cause damage to person or property. I do have to check into that to confirm, but the reality is I can't realistically...

If I hadn't lost my garage, I'd be up for getting it. Unfortunately, I can't have the motorcycles in the condo garage without a plate, even if they are covered by the multiple collector :(

At one point the cost went up, and then I lost interest. I guess I haven't been keeping up to date as closely as I could.

I never pursued the collector plate option as I used my motorcycle for work. It's not as great an option as it was years ago, and it could use some tweaking like the rest of the system ICBC has given us, but Trevor can give you the details in at least how it works for him. I'm just across the...

Anyone have a good, recent source for wintergreen oil?

Crap...I just threw away almost a full litre of the stuff when we moved labs :(, and it was the good stuff as it was date-stamped from the 60s

GS650G ... where to look for a solution: lose power/fuel on highway

There are a number of conditions that can result in symptoms you are describing, ranging from timing advance (as mentioned, and I agree, not likely), to plugged tank vent, kinked/inappropriate hoses, extra inline filters, and poor routing/lack of the carb vent hoses. There was a recent thread...

    1983 GS650G Decals

If you want to break down and buy a decal set, you can check out http://bdesigns.ca/. He has done up sets for our Canadian '83 650G for at least two members on here, including me. That is, the colour scheme with Orange and Red stripes. I'm sure he could do something for you.

    Bike advice Vancouver

It's an interesting question because it is one of those "most correct" answers. As well, it is absolutely imperative on the written test to not read anything into the question. If it is not on the page, then ignore it. In real life, the situation matters. What kind of crossing, if any, is...

I'd be willing to do a deal, but it's not going to be as good as the one Trevor just got on that Bandit.

When I bought mine, I found the new pricing not very different between the dealership and EBay. Times may have changed, but I'd go the route of the dealer, so I'd at least have a local recourse if there is an issue.

How do you even find these deals? That is an amazing price! I'd like to hear the full story on the asking price...is there actually anything wrong with it?

if it is the mount I think you are talking about, no, there are no threads until you get to the nut on the other side. This applies to either of 30 or 31 in this fiche: https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/suzuki/motorcycle/1983/gs650g/crankcase Or are you talking about something in the frame...
