A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

The 1100's wheels stateside were cast. The Comstars and possibly even the reverse Comstars have a mixed record for durability.

What are the most beautiful GS models? Aesthetic questions

Let's keep this thread free of any of the Vortex stuff, Trev. As I wade into what will be a light restomod of the CB900F, I had to really give thought to aesthetics, since that bike won't ever win any kind of performance war. It can, however, perform slightly better than it did stock (with a...

What are the most beautiful GS models? Aesthetic questions

There was something weird about the rake on both those and the VX800s, though the 800 evinced it to a greater degree.

What are the most beautiful GS models? Aesthetic questions

Speaking of shafties, and I may be going out a bit far on the GS limb here, I always almost loved these. Something about the rake on the front end put me off aesthetically, but they seem sweet old beasts.

What are the most beautiful GS models? Aesthetic questions

I ended up removing the fairing from my 1150, as I had really wanted an E. The colorways are very appealing in those models.

What are the most beautiful GS models? Aesthetic questions

Yep, those are about perfect to look at and, from what I hear, nice bikes all around.

What are the most beautiful GS models? Aesthetic questions

I think the small fairing on this one really balances out the front of the bike. I will be a heretic and say that, at least aesthetically, the longer swingarm and larger rear tire also makes the bike look better.

What are the most beautiful GS models? Aesthetic questions

Something I definitely dislike about the 1150, and even to some degree about my CB900F is the huge and clumsy looking instrument panel.

What are the most beautiful GS models? Aesthetic questions

I'm not sure I can agree there, Rob. The wire wheels make the Z1 look a little like a ballerina, and chrome front fenders have always looked gaudy to me. Decent looking bikes, but not as pretty as the GS1100E. Sure, the paint was nice, but that was a period thing, and Honda had some nice paint...

Ah, now THAT makes the bike look balanced!

What are the most beautiful GS models? Aesthetic questions

Definitely pretty, but something makes me think it would look just that little bit better with an 18" front wheel.
