A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Choke problem

Just to add to the mix I had the choke plunger seals replaced and the difference is night and day, if the carbs are 40 plus years old the seals will be shot. I totally recommend getting the seals replaced as they will leak by and make setting the carbs up more or less impossible.

    Suzuki GS1000e/s/gs1100/gsx1100 project...

Hi Lars, thanks for sending me the measurements, they are a great help. I am working on a torque arm solution using 7mm thick flat aluminium bar with slight angled bends, I will put up pictures when I have a working solution. As I am fitting a 160 on the rear I was aiming to keep the inner...

Update time.. The wheel builder has sent me some pics of my completed wheels which he has boxed up and posted, they should be with me at the weekend. I have also had the tyres delivered as well, they are Dunlop sportmax alpha 13. The rear is 160/60 ZR 18 and the front is 110/80 ZR18.

    Suzuki GS1000e/s/gs1100/gsx1100 project...

The Hubs are quite scarce in the UK so when I saw this pair I snapped them up sharpish. I am going to fit a 160-60 18 in the rear & 110-80 18 on the front.

    Suzuki GS1000e/s/gs1100/gsx1100 project...

I have made a late night purchase.... I have sent the hubs to a wheel builder and after a lot of serching and reading on this forum I'm going for 2.5 X 18 front and 4.25 X 18 rear aluminium rims. I have looked at and read all the info by Sharpy, Storm 64 and Chuck78 and the detail is...

I've just scrolled down and found the picture of your bike and could see the gixxer wheels.. nice looking bike by the way. :D

    520 chain and sprocket conversion

Did you put a 10mm spacer on the rear sproket to match the 10mm on the front? I only ask as I am having a 4.25 spoked rim on the rear with a 150x70 18 tyre and I already have a 530 chain on the bike. I was looking to use an offset front sproket just to make sure I clear the tyre with the chain...

    idle issues cont

Can I suggest using a colour tune to set up the idle. I found that just adjusting the idle screws is pointless unless you are a carburetor jedi, with the colour tune you can see the burn as you adjust the screws and it works a treat. If you do have an air leak the mixture will show you it's...

    Suzuki GS1000e/s/gs1100/gsx1100 project...

Update time. When I checked the bike over after a good shake down which included 2 track days at Brands Hatch motor racing curcuit in Kent UK I found the chain had started to tighten up on a number of the links. The chain set had been on the bike since being finished about 7 years ago so I have...

    Hydraulic clutch converstion

Agemax, I did read your conversion and really liked the way you did the whole job, if I was looking to do a permanent conversion thats the one I would go for, I might still do it anyway..

    Hydraulic clutch converstion

To be fair I did not expect the conversion to make that much difference. I have a luggage weighing doofa that I will try and get a base line figure for effort to move the lever before conversion then try the same after, but as you say the only true difference will be the cable drag and if the...

    Hydraulic clutch converstion

I just happend to be down the shed and to add to the comments on this thread I have a little info with pictures and a mock-up of the Hydraulic clutch conversion that is fully reversable and may or maynot work. I have made sure the parts fit on a mill I have on the floor in the shed which is a...

1st Ever Track Day @ 55yrs and 345 days old.

I never thought that I would be a track day type of person but it's so much fun. The day was run by The Bike Shed MCC https://bikeshedmoto.com/ and it was for any inapropriate motorcyles so bobbers, choppers, adventure or any other bike you would not normally take to a standard track day, also...
