A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    GS1100 replacement seat options?

I've always thought this looked really cool: This is in the Gallery for the 1982 collection. Somewhere on this site I saw a really cool modification, it was an '82 GS1100EZ, the grey one, it had a cover that he made for it that was placed over the rear part of the seat that gave it a really...

    Duplicolor Red Metal Specks paint

You did an excellent job on the paint, it looks great! For what it's worth, I had a friend of mine paint the fairing and side covers for me using the 2010 Dodge Inferno Red paint and it color matched perfectly, the only way you could tell that the paint wasn't original is by looking at the side...

Will Gs 1000 fairing fit an 850?

I have an '82 1100E model, I fitted the same type fairing to mine. I know you have a different bike but, the mounting concept is the same. Here is a link to a thread I started a few years ago showing how I did it. http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/showthread.php?t=144528&page=5 You can also...

    Brake light upgrade

I'm still on travel right now but, when I finally do make it home, I'll try to remember to post up information for you showing the wiring and component terminations. The programing box is just something I made for my convenience so that I can quickly change the display if I wanted to or if...

    Brake light upgrade

Oh I know! :) My wife has told me it was cold there (high fifties, low sixties) but I made sure she was aware that it was 1 degree here, I would rather be at home in that hot balmy weather (compared to Denver). :D And to top it off, there is very little humidity here, actually makes the cold...

    Brake light upgrade

Thats actually good to know, I did a lot of checking in the state of Texas and there are no laws against it so, I went with it. Years ago I lived in California and wasn't aware of the law, then again, we didn't have all the neat technology we have now. I guess, if I didn't say it before...

    Brake light upgrade

It's been awhile since I have been able to really sit down and post anything, been working lots and traveling quite a bit, in fact I'm in Colorado right now where it's 1 degree and a foot of snow on the ground. Anyway, just to give an update, I have ridden the bike numerous times since doing the...

Good tools cheap vs cheap tools

I only buy Harbor Freight tools if it's something I know will be a one time use, I've found that that's about as long as they last! I use many different type tools in my line of work and have found that I prefer to buy either Craftsman or Kobalt (Lowes) tools because if you break one, theres...

    I hate helmets

Before I went into the NAVY in January of '83, I hated wearing helmets! I was even involved in a couple accidents, one of them even totaled the bike after broadsiding a car, no helmet! I walked away with a scratch and a sprained wrist and still refused to wear a helmet! Then a friend of mine...

    Brake light upgrade

I was just looking at the link and I like that! The bulb that I have in the tail/brake light is the standard, stock bulb, I think that the bulb you link to would go real well with the rest of what I have built. Thanks for the link!

    Brake light upgrade

Actually all that they are is brake lights, the standard tail light is still functional and is the only light lit under normal conditions. Only when I put on the brakes do these lights light up. There won't be any problem for anyone to see my brake lights when they come on, if you've ever been...

    Brake light upgrade

Continuing with the thread: I installed all of the wiring, installed my grounds, spliced into my brake switch wire and connected to the battery. This is what the installation looks like, I built one other thing so that just in case I get pulled over because of the lights, I can easily...

    Brake light upgrade

Back in March I was sideswiped on my bike, the very first thing that came out of the guys mouth was ?I didn?t see you!,? so now I have made some changes to my brake lights to make it more visible. First, bought the lights I wanted, they are actually police grill lights. Next, I sat down and...
