A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    $800 83 1100E w/original pipes

Yes, that always seems to be the case that these are too far away.

82 Kat looks tired but price dropping, now $3,3300 SoCal (not mine)

Another old GS that I should have kept... I remember why I sold it; my back, wrists and knees couldn't put up with it anymore.

82 Kat looks tired but price dropping, now $3,3300 SoCal (not mine)

I had an 86 GSXR 750. The first year it was available here in the US. I think it was released in Europe in 85.

82 Kat looks tired but price dropping, now $3,3300 SoCal (not mine)

I would like one in my garage. Not to ride, but just to look at. When they came out I didn't like them at all, but now they're interesting classics.

    SoCal - Here's an '82 Katana, not bad! And an '82 GS1100G - $8500 each. Not mine.

Nice! I would like an 1100G but not at that price.

How fast is is your old GS?

With stock gearing that's about all these could do.

    SuperTrapp installation advise:

Finally finished getting the SuperTrapp installed. Looks nice and sounds good. I'm still not sure how many disks it should have for a stock setup, per my questions above.

    SuperTrapp installation advise:

    Yes, thanks!

    SuperTrapp installation advise:

Tried the pipe expansion tool and it only helped a little. Also tied heating the slip on, nothing. Ended up just slotting the rear exhaust hanger on the slip on and then bolted things up. Haven't had a chance to run it yet. Question: How many disks do I use for a stock 83 1100ED? Even has...

    SuperTrapp installation advise:

I may have to get one of these. The slip on is going on, some how. :)

    SuperTrapp installation advise:

Is there such a thing? Where would I get this? I guess muffler shops do this all the time.

    SuperTrapp installation advise:

This had crossed my mind. Guess I'll use welding gloves to install it then. :)

    SuperTrapp installation advise:

I found that rocking it on and off was as good as the rubber mallet. I'll try the "aggressive steel wool" and retry.

    SuperTrapp installation advise:

Got it separated, lubed it, and it moved another 1/8 inch but I still need another 1/2 inch. I'm now considering cutting the slip on splits deeper.
  16. H

    SuperTrapp installation advise:

I'll try to separate it and lube, as you suggest.

    SuperTrapp installation advise:

Looked nice and smooth before assembly.

    SuperTrapp installation advise:

This one is brand new and never been installed before.

    SuperTrapp installation advise:

I'm installing a nice SuperTrapp header and slip on, on my 83 1100ED. All has gone well except that slipping on the "slip on" is requiring the persuasion of a rubber mallet and I still have another 1/2 inch of smacking to get it to line up with the hang point on the right passenger peg mount...

Will SuperTrapp headers interfere with oil filter change?

That's kind of what I'm seeing also.
