A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    It's been awhile

Hey gang. Right now I'm sitting at home with a broken femur. No, not from a crash. From slipping on snow while walking my dogs. Don't ask. If you remember I have a 83 GS750E , the beautiful maroon one, that I kinda restored and got running. I truly love the bike but might be going in a new...

    Shifter interference

Thanks for the ideas. Really helpful. The bike does have the center stand , I plan on taking the side stand off and closing up the clevis and inspect the bolt. I do know it's got some slop in it. Mad

    Storing the bike

Quick question. Is it better to run the bike dry for winter storage or just put stabilizer in the system and run it so it gets into everything ? Last year I let it sit with a full tank with stabilizer and had no problems. I don't want the O rings and gaskets to dry out. Mad

    Shifter interference

Could someone take a couple pictures of their side stand in the Up position ? Mad

    Shifter interference

Yeah I checked the clevis on the bolt and replaced the bolt itself. I'm probably going to take it back off and close up the clevis a bit more and come up with some kind of stop. The shift lever itself looks stock and undamaged. Mad

    Shifter interference

The wire isn't in the way. The side stand itself sits so close to the shifter that it's hard to get my toe under the shift pedal. Mad

    Shifter interference

Interesting. I may have to try something like that. Mad

    Shifter interference

If the stand sat an inch lower or stayed inboard a bit more it would probably be fine. I had it off and closed up the clevis but it's the same. Mad

Getting more interested in 2-up riding

If you want something sportier than a Goldwing, consider this. Our two up bike is a 2006 ZX14 with 1 inch bar risers and the seat off the Concourse1400. Really comfortable, handles very well and still goes like stink. We've taken several multiple day trips on it. My only problem is, my wife...

    Shifter interference

If I move the shifter up then up shifting becomes an issue. I would basically have to lift my entire foot off the peg. The shifter angle is not extreme at all. I'm 6'3" by the way. Mad

    Shifter interference

Yeah, it's what was on the bike when I got it. Otherwise works great
