A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

    Starting problem

When I disconnected the cable from the solenoid to the starter it would not turn over. I had it connected directly to the battery. When I connected the cable back onto the solenoid the bike would turn over. The bike turns over fine when cold. I had the starting problem after I rode for 15...

    Starting problem

Ok, since my last post I HAVE SPARK. I have a new battery, new solenoid, new reg/rec, new stator. All seems to be working normal. I rode up to the store, say 15 miles and I came out within 10 minutes and the bike wouldn't start. I had to push start the bike and it fired right up. When I got...

OK, I'm electrically lost. I'll see if I can find the ignitor and connect it. Do I need the Dynatec to complete this circuit?

    wiring harness 82 gs850g

I'm looking for a wiring harness part # 33610-45190 for a 1982 gs850g. Looking on line I see harnesses for other 850'swith a different part number. I don't know if they would match up without difficulty. Part# 33610-45190 is for 82 and 83 gs850g's. Does anyone have the harness I need for...

    Rotor gouge

Hi again, I put in a new stator from OEM cycles and a used rotor. I ran the checks to see if I have 75 volts on a AC voltmeter and come up short 61-71 volts. My battery is not recharging. Is there another test I can do or is change the stator and start over?

    Rotor gouge

I sent the pics and apparently they did not get through. The gouge is about 1/8" right at the seam where two plates meet.

    Rotor gouge

I'm going to be on the safe side and replace it. If there was a loose screw or nut it would have chewed up more than what has been done. This is the first time I had the stator out due to charging issues. I've had the bike for eight years who knows when this happened. Thanks for your help, I...

    Rotor gouge

Hi All, I have a 1982 gs850g. I have to change the stator and while removing stator I saw a gouge in rotor. In checking the stator I see where a piece of the stator shifted and moved. Because of the gouge in the rotor should I change it or will it still function properly. The gouge in the...
