A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

It did come with other bits and spares Although it doesn't have a whole engine it did come with cylinder block, cylinder head, airboxes and it saved me a couple of hundred dollars in more orders to Germany so it effectively cost $1500

    Re-Instatement of 83 GSX750 EZ from a 7/11 to a 750 & creating a new 1100

The Engine internals were in a much better state than expected so that was a pleasant surprise While I waited for bits to turn up I started the removal of the 1100 engine from the bike using my trusty Gazebo frame

    Re-Instatement of 83 GSX750 EZ from a 7/11 to a 750 & creating a new 1100

So it is pretty grimy as it as sat in a shed for years but a bit of scrubbing should refresh it. Usually the more oily gunk that is covering the engine the better protection it has had over the years. Unfortunately I also found it was missing the Signal Generator Assembly so another order was...

    Re-Instatement of 83 GSX750 EZ from a 7/11 to a 750 & creating a new 1100

So earlier this year I got hold of a 81 750 Engine that was nearly complete, only missing a Clutch, Starter motor & cover and main drive sprocket cover. Oh and 1 other thing, The previous owner thought a cylinder might have rusted in the bore as it wouldnt turn over. I took a chance and...

    Re-Instatement of 83 GSX750 EZ from a 7/11 to a 750 & creating a new 1100

This is a story of 2 bikes that are entwined so this post will cover both of their stories. Some of you will remember this 1983 GSX750EZ restoration from 2014 The plan is to remove the 1100 engine and install a 750 engine so that I can get it re-registered and legal again. I think it will be...

Starter button issue? Is it possible?

I had a similar issue with my gsx1100 that i am getting back on the road. Sometimes the starter button worked and sometimes it did not. I connected an additional earth connection from metal tray that starter solenoid is monted on to the battery negative terminal. Works every time now.

    1978 GS550 Project

The spare engine came in handy for swapping a few Shims and fastening bolts Getting there I got it together with the original 4n1 exhaust so I could get it on the road First ride it was running really well around town but once I got out on motorway it was flat out at 100km/h so I...

I eventually got the carbs back together with my replacement carb in there. I even got them to a reasonable consistency across the 4 This is the kickstart spring that I had issues getting inserted correctly. I could get in in and it would work 5 or 6 times and then come unclipped again...

    1978 GS550 Project

The tank got a nice white undercoat and then some matching blue. I took the tank to my local automotive paint store and they matched it. Then a couple of coats of blue and on with the decals. I do all my best work at the dining table and the side panels and the rear tail light surround

I had been doing the easy chores as the bike was still outside and so I could not start the dismantling process until this point. I was just taking off the easy bits. The frame was a nice shade of rusty brown A bit of sanding and rust treatment + a coat of undercoat got it to this stage...
