A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Case Savers

The set that I got to fit were on a 1978 GS750E. I can't remember who I gave the extra set to on here. But they will not fit a 1982 GS1100E, or I would have put them on mine! I'm still looking also!

making rubber pliable again with oil.

I've always used a 30% wintergreen oil / 70% xylene mixture with good results. Just be aware that the rubber part will increase in size, like double in size! It will return to its normal size after removed from the solution and air dried for a day or so. And it will be softer!

    Delayed/ No Throttle response

What he said! IMHO, you will probably get better responses to your issue if you would delete the other threads and condense them into a new one explaining what has been done so far, and what is the current problem.

Hey Norm, You ever heard of the "windy9"? Looks like some interesting roads in southern Ohio. If you go to windy9.com you can get a map sent to you. I'm waiting on mine now. Might possibly be a good area to have a GSR rally sometime?

Valve Stem Seals, or maybe throw in the towel

Rich, Check the plug caps and see if there isn't a brass fitting that goes on the plug with a screwdriver slot in it. You can just unscrew the brass fitting and the resistor will be under it. Normally there is a spring in there also. I use a short piece of heavy copper wire to replace the...

    Tire Vendors ?

I use Rocky Mountain ATV most of the time for tires and OEM parts. I like that they will price match, so you can shop around for the best price. And it helps that they are only a nice 20 minute ride away!

    gs850g gear indicator

The first thing I would check is the gear position switch at the shifter. Sounds like it may not be making contact when in 5th gear. If it is like most that I have seen, there are brass contacts that may just need cleaning??
