A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

    Sketches of Spain-Barcelona 1992.

I have been to Spain many times (my mother is from Spain). I have always wanted to spend a couple of weeks on a motorcycle touring the beautiful country. I have the spainish bull on my windshield and on my helmet. Great photos, thanks for sharing.

    Father and Son, First Ride

This picture should be framed and given back to him on Father's Day, it's a great shot with the trees and mountains in the background. I too have some wonderful memories of my Dad and I going on motorcycle adventures.

Cylinder Head is off, Now What?

Interesting thread. I am in the middle of this project at this very moment. This is my first time doing this. I broke her down Easter weekend (see attached photo) I picked up the new gaskets yesterday. I was able to get the cylinder jug down over the pistons last night. Wow, that was fun...

    Help! Looking for Advice

I don't think it's a major leak, it's 1980 GS1100L. "Bone up", I may try to find my testees... I just don't want to get it apart and then not remember where everything goes. I just imagine taking the head cover off and things with tensions springing out everywhere.

    Help! Looking for Advice

I'll check the tach cable, I remember removing that when I did the valve cover gasket, maybe I didn't tighten it enough. Doesn't seem to be leaking from the fins, I think it's leaking from the front of the motor. The bolt right under the tach cable seems so be collecting the drip.

    Help! Looking for Advice

I am leaking oil from the front end of the motor. Since I am not mechanicaly gifted, I sought advice from the mechanic who does most of the major work. He believes that it is my Head Gasket. (This winter, I successfully replaced the valve cover gasket). Mechanic says that he would need to...

    Bandit or FZ1

No crackin taken, I too want to make sure I'm able to touch the ground (without using my Gene Simmons boots). I ruled out the V Strom a while ago due to its height. My little 30 in. legs need to be able to touch. I believe the FZ1 is somewhere between 30-31 in. I need to sit on a bandit and...

    Bandit or FZ1

I wasn't sure where to post this, so I thought I try it here. First, let me say, I have no intention on getting rid of my GS 1100L. However, I must be going through some mid life crisis, I don't know. But I'm feeling like I need a bike with a bit of, a bit of, let's say pep with style. So...

    Shame on me!

Well, I let it happen, so I have no one else to blame... This weekend my wife and I went for a ride. Before returning home, I stopped to get gas and filled the tank to the top. I pulled in the garage, parked the bike and put down the garage door. 30 minutes later we smell gas in the...

    stumped by turn signals

My turn signals work, but my day time running lights on the front do not light up. I have a 1980 GS1100 L, are the running lights supposed to be on?

    Engine with Indigestion

I've never pulled the carbs off before, I'll look it over and see if I'm comfortable doing that. I wonder if I spray carb cleaner into it, if that would help?

    Engine with Indigestion

Steve No, I did not use any stabilizer. Maybe should do that in the future. I'm on the east side. Milford area. Before I get too concerned, Do you think I should run through a couple of tanks of carb cleaner in gas?
