A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I enjoyed that very much. Thanks. I'm a sucker for a mandolin.

Love to see young people performing real music, mastering their instruments. My wife (MS Art Teacher) has this former student, now a 15 yr. old HS Sophomore who, when the MS Music Teacher took as far as she could, realized her phenomenal vocal abilities exceeded her teaching, got the kid...

Old Bike, new rider, same ol' problems - 1980 GS550E

"Clutch Slipping": Is that coming from your Dad, the same Dad that initially told you not to bother removing all the jets and thoroughly cleaning them? Maybe i read you're post wrong: "they were all gunked up and I should have just pulled them out the first time (against the advise of my dad)"...

Re: Replacement bolts. A good hardware store that sells individual bolts/nuts/washers in metric and has handy thread gauges is usually a better bet for replacement hardware than an auto-parts store. I'm fortunate to have a few in my area. Be sure the bolt you get isn't too long that it touches...

By my count, and not for nuthin’ because Rob S still wins with 3, rphillips only gets to vote once. Now that Rob seems to have a handle on posting pics, he should be able to get us a new fun theme to shoot.

Voting for Jedz123. I've seen it in person. And it is an engineering marvel. Really, I just like the composition.

I have quite a few, but this is one of the most recent and my current favourite on my GS. Just tickled that I could put modern instruments on this old bike for $60 and a few hours’ time.

There's often been discussion in this thread about "this shouldn't be a tag/riding game". I don't really care what you call it. I participate to share what I hope others see as a good representation of the theme/and/or/ an image worthy of others' appreciation, regardless of when or under what...

That's one way to do it. Many of us like to go for a ride with the theme in mind in case we come across something that fits. Or, often, I'll set something up to fit the theme. Helps keep the pics we post fresh and not recycling the same pics we've used in previous themes. Though we have to do...

We're a coupla days late this week on getting a new theme up because of the site being down all day last Friday. Paging Dave Grimly. Hopefully he sees this and gets something up soon.

anyone go for a ride today? Pics?

Had a visit from this Vermonter Jedz123 this morning. He stayed long enough for me and my son Noah to take him on a short ride on some of our favorite forest roads. And that quick he was off again to try to race ahead of the snowstorm coming to beat up New England just a little more. Godspeed...

    Engine oil problem

A very few people here have had good luck repairing petcocks. Most who have tried wish they'd just bought a new one to begin with. You COULD replace with the appropriate on/off Pingel tap and adapter. And yes, block off the vacuum port on the carb body. You COULD also forget to close it one...

Can everyone see Bob's pic, the third one in the recap? I can see it on my phone but not my work PC. My company must be blocking imageshack links now too.
