I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

That's your oil pressure sensor wire. It connects to the protruding pin. Looking at the clutch boot, it came off while working on the clutch ?

Why you need to adjust the valves...

i remember similar from the first cars we had on LPG, many years ago, fitted to engines that did not have the hardened valves/seats yet. i was amazed how fast they needed readjusting.

Why you need to adjust the valves...

So cool to see these pics !! I am in another line of work, but after something like this we would conduct a "root cause investigation". Which, if possible, would contain info on overdue maintenance or other contributing factors. And would have recommendations to prevent this in the future. Is...

Valve Stem Seals, or maybe throw in the towel

oh, wauw, never seen that before. Thought at first i was looking at the bare spark plug lead without cap but after seeing the video it's very clear what i was looking at. Funny how that works. I've heard about leaking coils but never thought it could be anything like this. Thanks for that, SO...

Valve Stem Seals, or maybe throw in the towel

don't really understand what you mean. But i can't quite make out what i am looking at, is the plug cap still on ? Cool picture, that looks like a powerful coil/spark. Made me think of the Suzuki service bulletin for GT750, how to do a rudimentary test of a coil without the Suzuki testing...

    12 volt DC Igniter box

Some words get replaced automatically, i believe since the last forum upgrade. If you edit your post to "nr.1" or "# 1" (note the space between # and 1) it does not get replaced. Looks like the admin used something like the vBulletin "Replacement Variables" option or a plugin to do so. Usually...

    Ignition help gs650e

First, disconnect the green/yellow wire from the starter relay so the bike stops cranking. Also disconnect the coils so they don't blow when testing over a period. Now you can take your time troubleshooting with contact on. That also gives you access to the 12V going to coils to measure if it...

Valve Stem Seals, or maybe throw in the towel

btw +1 on new plugs and see if # 4 fouls bad again. Could be blowby (compression loss - teaspoon of oil should raise compression temporarily) Could be valve stem seal, quick or slow. In case slow could last a long time when cleaning/ replacing # 4 regularly.

Valve Stem Seals, or maybe throw in the towel

I'd do a compression test, preferrably a leakdown test too. Maybe that will give you more info to go on when deciding whether to take the head off or not.

Did the rain screw up my bike or was it a coincidence?

yes, another good quick check is disconnect the vacuum hose, (and plug it) and run on prime. Rules out gas through vacuum hose, but also issues like leaking vacuum hose and throughput while on vacuum operated ON/RES. May want to temporarily remove that, some of those restrict gas flow.

Did the rain screw up my bike or was it a coincidence?

Buddy of mine recently serviced a bike, would run great but within 15 minutes into the test drive would start running bad. Turned out there was a bit of water in the tank. Clean carbs, run great on external gas reservoir but when connecting the gas tank just a few drops of water in the carbs...

Did the rain screw up my bike or was it a coincidence?

you came here for advice, learned something, and improved your bike is what it looks like to me. And reported back so we could see the advice was sound. (we learn from that, too) Sounds like WIN-WIN to me ... thanks :D

thanks for clarifying that, indeed that was the point i was making :)

Did the rain screw up my bike or was it a coincidence?

I take it this is the vacuum operated petcock, and you did not leave it on prime. Let's think about what happens when you shut off the bike and the petcock functions correctly. The engine stops, the vacuum disappears and releases the hold on the petcock which stops the flow of gas to the carbs...

Did the rain screw up my bike or was it a coincidence?

Attack issues one by one. I would start with the fuel issue. For this to happen, 2 things have gone wrong : * the petcock kept supplying gasoline with engine turned off. Either left on PRIme, or needs checking/refurb/replace. * One or more carb needles let fuel through while they should be...
